Surroundings
The Blauwestadhoeve is located in the Blauwestad, a newly built city in Midwolda. It is as big as Amsterdam, but only has plans for 1500 houses. This allows for an enormous amount of living space, nature and a large lake. The area boasts marinas, cycling paths, boulevards and a large nature area. In the direct vicinity are old towns such as Scheemda and Winschoten. You can take a trip to the old fortified town of Bourtange or visit the seal sanctuary in Pieterburen. A 30-minute drive will take you to the bustling city of Groningen with its many restaurants and entertainment venues. The city also has many cultural attractions and museums, such as the Groninger Museum, which is a work of art in itself.
