Van der Valk Hotel Nijmegen-Molenhoek is a spacious and hospitable hotel that is close to Nijmegen and important connecting roads. The German border is not far from the hotel; international Airport Niederrhein can for example be reached within a mere 30 minutes. Arnhem and Nijmegen are also reasonably close to the hotel. Both cities are known for their atmospheric inner city, with a broad choice of shops and cultural sites. Molenhoek have a train station (track Nijmegen - Venlo). It is a 10 minute walk from the train station to the hotel.

The hotel rooms are equipped with a bathroom with a toilet, bath and/or shower. In addition, the rooms have comfortable beds, a telephone, radio, and television with a video channel. There is also a wireless Internet connection in all the rooms, via KPN Hotspots.

Food and Drinks

The breakfast buffet is served on Monday through Friday from 06:00 to 10:30 h. On weekends guests can have breakfast from 07:00 to 11:00 h.
In the 'brasserie' and the restaurant guests can enjoy a cup of coffee, an extensive lunch or a lovely dinner. Kids can enjoy the special 'Timo Toekan' children's menu and a colouring picture. On sunny days the large outside terrace is also open. In the bar you can enjoy a nice drink, after 17:00 h. It serves, among other things, various kinds of beers, cocktails, whiskeys, brandy, and liquors.

In all the rooms and public areas guests can use the wireless Internet through KPN Hotspots at an additional charge.

Surroundings

From the hotel guests can reach the nature reserve 'Mookerheide' within 10 minutes. Here you can walk and bike through the long stretches of woods on the hills of Plasmolen and Mook: there are many carefully mapped (walking) routes. The 100 hectare 'Mookerplas', with the recreation terrain 'De Grote Siep', is a perfect area for sunbathing, swimming, surfing, sailing, and fishing.

Anonymous Clean and noiseless place: 30 September 2011; 7.8; + the only hotel in that part of the town, not far from Mook-Molenhoek train station, there is no noise, calm place, where you can enjoy fresh air and stay far from the fuss. It's clean, and cosy.; - the room cost is high for, I would say, the budget hotel

Very helpful reception staff who had a good command of English as our Dutch is very limited! Will definately use Van der Valk hotels again when visting The Netherlands.; - Can't think of any.

David Richards Overall, excellent hotel with generally helpfull staff: 25 July 2009; 9.0; + Lovely Hotel, with excellent staff (with very good English). Room was clean. Food very good (but see point below). Excellent location for buses into Njimegen. Overall environment provided for a very stress free stay, even though it was on the last two days of the 4 day march.; - Need to consider that 11 year old English children do not take well to curry flavoured tomato ketchup. Spoilt her food for her, firtunately I had plenty of food fer her to have some of mine. No reaction from the waitress, just that yes it was a curry flavoured packet that she left for my daughter.

H Bertels: 7 August 2006; 4.0; + helpfull staff (but they were mostly temps and changed every few hours); - Confusion about rates: I had booked a premium room yet I was given a standard room. The room was in very bad condition: bedside lights did not work, telephone did not work, bathroom was dirty. I had requested a non-smoking room yet the room I received smelled of cigarettes and had burning marks everywhere. The worst thing was coming down in the morning for breakfast and finding several guests smoking over the breakfast food. This is disgusting for non smokers and it is high time you outlaw smoking in food areas! Also the key card did not work and I required the manager's assistance several times just to get into my room. I will not be staying at the Molenhoek again!

Anonymous Slecht: 28 January 2012; 4.8; + Schoon hotel, goed eten.; - Locatie restaurant en slaapgelegenheid lagen uit elkaar, dus als je iets wou eten of drinken moest je eerst door weer en wind naar het restaurant. Bedden waren 2 afzondelijke boxsprings die steeds uit elkaar schoven waar door mijn partner of ik tussen de 2 bedden kwam te liggen.

Anonymous: 25 January 2012; 7.2; + Goede bereikbaarheid, vriendelijk personeel. Geluidsisolatie is prima, hotel ligt aan een drukke straat maar daar merk je niets van. De omgeving is zeer mooi, natuur is overdadig aanwezig. Ook Nijmegen is om de hoek (10 auto minuten); - Er is een kwaliteitsverschil tussen de kamers beneden en boven, de kamers boven zijn beter! Ik heb bijna alle kamers gehad in dit hotel maar het is de badkamerbouwer in geen enkele kamer gelukt om de douche-cabine waterdicht te krijgen, na het douchen is altijd de vloer nat (gelukkig zijn er altijd genoeg handoeken :) )

De bediening ziet wel eens kleinigheden over het hoofd: koude borden, borden opwarm plateau vergeten aan te zetten, schemerlamp vergeten aan te doen, te lang de aandacht moeten trekken om wijn bij te schenken etc. Maar door de band genomen is het personeel vriendelijk.; - Kamerdeuren hotel erg luidruchtig. Als mensen s'nachts thuiskomen: hard praten en slaan met deuren. Voorstel: plak een korte tekst op de deuren waarin vriendelijk verzocht wordt s'nachts op de gang en met de deuren met andere mensen rekening te houden
