Montfoort lies in the province of Utrecht, surrounded by rivers. On a bicycle you can explore the surrounding landscape with its orchards, farmland and polders.

Surroundings
Montfoort is a historic town close to Utrecht. In the centre one can still visit castle Montfoort, the chivalric estate Commanderij and the old city hall. Enjoy a nice walk or bike ride in the nature area Het Groene Hart or pay a visit to the small picturesque city of Oudewater, with its monumental townscape. The lake Reeuwijkse Plassen is a perfect spot for a break with a picnic.
