A nice, modern hotel for the solo business traveller.

This hotel is full of innovative technology, and it is quite easy to use. There are not many instructions, and the few around are brief, but generally, if you just pause for a moment, it is easy to figure out what to do. The room is comfortable, and individually climate controlled.

The batteries on the remote control don't last very long (< 2 hr). Sometimes, switching channels on the TV takes a long time.

Staff not at all friendly, room was not serviced until asked at 6 in the evening. Late checkout requested, refused!! Very noisy traffic, day and night, next to intersection. Toiletry bag left behind, told it must have been thrown away. Paper cups in rooms. I visit Amsterdam about once a month and this has been the worst hotel I have stayed. Unlikely that I will stay in a Bastion hotel again, there is far better quality and value for money out there

A five minute walk from the Red Bus (300) from Schiphol -- easy if you don't drive. And that stop also takes you into Haarlem City Centre (must go).

Beds uncomfortable, LOTS of noise all night (VERY thin ceilings and walls). More importantly, charged 10 Euros per night more than quoted, even though desk clerk had the lower rate on a paper in front of him (he said it was a 5 euro foreign tourist tax, which was not listed on my reservation or his sheet, and the other 5 he just had to charge me unless he could email his manager, and did I want to sit in the lobby and wait for the reply? With no other hotel to go to at 6 pm, I paid).

Ibis Amsterdam City Stopera is perfectly located near shops, the flea market at the 'Waterlooplein', the 'Stopera' (City hall and Opera), the Hermitage and the entertainment venues at the 'Rembrandtplein'. Funky hotel for those that don't mind walking or tram ride to centre.

Amazing discount for out of season visit. Very modern and stylish hotel, clean and comfortable. Free swimming pool and gym. Tram stop 5 minutes walk away with direct links to centre (5 minute ride). Great shower. Free refridgerated tray. Right next to motorway so easy to drive to.

Out of centre - probably a 15-20 minute walk from Leidseplein but too cold to walk in February! Sauna was 7.50 per person. No music channel on TV. Parking for hotel cost around 20 euros per 24 hour period.

If you need to sleep in this locale.

For me, for this trip, the hotel location was ideal since I arrived at Amsterdam Zuid 1,2 km away and had a morning visit 0,8 km from the hotel. Window opened.

Bed too soft. I moved the mattress to the floor, but it was too large for the floor space. Wake up service on phone provided only in Dutch. Staff unable explain operation of this service. No "life" surrounding the hotel. Impossible to find a night meal except in the hotel restuarant. Hotel restuarant had limited menu and overworked staff. Its posh style was oh so superficial. One could say this for the hotel altogether.

Being refurbished, until Summer 2010

Located near RAI, near to station, metro and tram, so is easy to get to via public transport.

At the moment the hotel is being refurbished. I would suggest not staying there until refurbishment is completed. Parking at hotel is very expensive €22 per night, or part of... I believe it is €4.50 per hour otherwise. Currently the restaurant and bar are combined inside one of the conference rooms, so there is no atmosphere, and it feels like a building site. What amazes me is that they are still charging full price for everything even though it is a mess. I will not be staying there again until the refurbishment is completed.

Warm, Comfortable & Friendly! A home away from home!!

I really enjoyed my stay at Multatuli Hotel. It is right across the road from Centraal Station. The staff were great and even got us taxis for a fraction of the cost! I would definately stay here again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vooral de ligging is een pluspunt:buiten de stad en toch vlot bereikbaar met het openbaar vervoer,ook de nabijheid van de Amstel en de groene omgeving zijn een niet te versmaden surplus na een dagje stappen in Amsterdam. Ontbijtbuffet was geweldig.Enorm aanbod en zeer smakelijk. Niet tegen staande deze grote pluspunten zal ik NOOIT nog boeken bij dit Mercure Hotel en waarschijnlijk ook niet in een ander Mercure hotel. Reden; Zie mijn commentaar bij de minpunten.

Het hotel voldeed niet aan de verwachtingen omwille van volgende punten: -bij toekomst op kamer 1012 bleek er slechts één badjas en één paar slippers aanwezig te zijn. -Badhanddoeken,bekertje in de badkamer,enz... waren ook maar voor één persoon voorzien. -Op zondag 5 juli om 15u15 waren de bedden nog niet opgemaakt en ook de kamer was nog niet gereinigd.Gevolg:extra kosten aan de bar. -Na klacht,telefonisch en aan de balie is er direct iemand de kamer in orde gaan brengen. -Men zou ook een badjas en slippers voorzien voor de tweede persoon maar daar heb ik NIETS van gemerkt. Slotbedenking:WAS DEZE KAMER WEL VOORZIEN VOOR TWEE PERSONEN?De prijs was in ieder geval wel voor twee personen.

Excellent location and Staff

The hotel staff was excellent. Ms. K. Van Wijk was particularly helpful. The central location of the hotel is excellent. I plan on staying again, especially when traveling in off seasons.

The walls are not well sound proofed. However, the features of this hotel are otherwise comparable to much more expensive hotels. If you are a sound sleeper its really not a big deal.

Goede keuze voor één of twee nachten

Ruime kamer. Alles lekker fris. Nabij de ringweg. Aan andere kant van tunneltje onder de A10 kun je na 19.00 uur gratis parkeren. Op bepaalde dagen niet duur.

Ver van het centrum, maar halte voor tram en nachtbus is nabij. Geen geweldig uitzicht door het raam.

Bedroom was too cold . Earliest possible check-in time of 2 p.m. is too late , and results in long waits in queues immediately after that time . Beer and snacks are too expensive . Lift to 4th. floor is very slow , and kept breaking down .

Very good location near Rembrandt plein, good tram connection to everywhere. Quiet environment; had a peaceful sleep. Nice cafées around.

Way too expensive breakfast. Shower could've been more spacious. Keycard didn't work on the outdoor and the receptionist wasn't too friendly but ok.

A lovely friendly hotel on the banks of the Amstel...

A lovely friendly hotel, sitting on the banks of the Amstel. Just out of the centre of Amsterdam (20mins walk from Centraal Station) it's location is great because you don't hear traffic & and people outside at night.. The hotel was clean and tidy, and the rooms had a modern feel, with flat screen LCD tv's, and walk in showers. The hotel also contains free internet for guests. As the hotel is a B&B, breakfast was provided, with a wide range of items. A person was on the front desk 24 hours a day and was always helpful! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Bridge Hotel and would stay there again if I went back to Amsterdam. I would also recommend this hotel to friends and family. Thank you!

The room was very comfortable. Free wi-fi was positive, I find it very annoying to book into a 4/5* Hotel at their rates and then be asked to pay 20+ euro on top for wi-fi. Location for centre was good plus metro/central station was only 5 minutes walk away.

The underground car park was extortionate at 50Euro overnight! If I had to pay the full official room rate rather than the Hotels.NL rate I would have considered this Hotel very expensive for facilities and service.

Service was excellent with very nice management. The room was small but clean, comfortable and modern. The hotel is right next to the museum district of Amsterdam and only a 2 minute walk to the tram which takes you anywhere in the city center in 5 minutes.

Nice place to stay if going to the Heinekin Music Area

We really enjoyed our stay. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable good size bathroom although would have preferred a shower opposed to a bath. we would recommend it.

Furniture in the room could have been dusted down ther was dust everwhere. A bit chilly at night could have done with a extra blanket, radiator needed bleeding to get more heat out of it. A bit of a walk to the hotel from metro station could do with a Taxi rank outside of the metro station. Checkout should be later.
