Description
WestCord Hotel de Wadden is situated in the former nautical college of Vlieland, in the lively and historic Dorpsstraat (Village Street). The rooms at the back of the hotel have a lovely view of the sea dyke and the Wadden Sea. Much of the authentic atmosphere of the hotel's interior has been preserved, and the hotel has an atmospheric restaurant and a lively neighbourhood café called 'De Zeevaert.'
The hotel can be found in Oost-Vlieland, the only village on the island Vlieland. Here you can visit, among other things, the 17th century village church, or the 16th century Tromphuis, which is currently a museum. The lighthouse of Vlieland is also worth visiting: it stands 36 metres above sea level and is the most characteristic building on Vlieland. However, Vlieland is mostly famous for its lovely nature. As the most thinly populated community in The Netherlands the island offers mainly quiet and open spaces. Here you may enjoy the island's versatile nature. Woods, beaches, mudflats, and dunes alternately grace the scenery as you explore the island.
WestCord Hotel de Wadden still breathes the atmosphere of a family-owned hotel. As soon as you check-in, you will notice the warm and sincere reception and the attention to personal service. The hotel's 20 rooms are each stylishly decorated and equipped with a bath, toilet, (separate) shower, television, telephone, and a work or reading area. For a meal worthy of remembering you will not have to go far: the hotel's restaurant has a professional and much-appreciated kitchen. For a nice drink in a friendly environment you are in the right place at the (outdoor) café.
Food and Drinks
In the morning guests can enjoy the delicious breakfast buffet in the hotel. This buffet is served daily between 08:30 and 10:00 h. Here the hotel offers, among other things, fresh bread, scrambled eggs, bacon, and a rich choice of sandwich fillings, cheese and meat, and warm and cold drinks. WestCord Hotel de Wadden also has its own restaurant, which boasts a casual atmosphere and a much appreciated kitchen. The restaurant also has an atmospheric bar and a reading table. During the day you can have a seat here for a nice cup of coffee, lunch, or a nice drink. In the evening you may appreciate the specialities from the professional kitchen. A delicious glass of wine from the extensive wine menu is bound to finish off your culinary experience in style.
