Description
At the Hotel Albert II Oostende, the use of a gym, a children's corner and wireless internet is free of charge. There is also a cosy bar and lounge in the hotel. The former Hotel George V changed ownership in 2008 and since then hotel was totally renovated and renamed the Hotel Albert II. All rooms have a bath or shower, toilet, hairdrier, television, safe and coffee and tea making facilities.
Notable attractions in Ostend are the flower clock in the Leopold Park, the Vistrap (fish trap) where you can buy fresh fish early in the morning, the Koninklijke Gaanderijen (royal galleries) and the famous Kursaal at the Albert I promenade dominating the view. You can shop in Ostend to your heart?s content and you can immediately start in the cosy Kapellestraat close to the hotel. Most shops in the centre are also open on Sunday.

A breakfast buffet is served between 07:00 and 10:30 h.
You can have a drink in the cosy hotel bar until midnight. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but Oostende offers many good places and restaurants where you can enjoy some great food.

Surroundings
At the Venetiaanse Gaanderijen (venetian galleries), various exhibitions, theatrical and artistic events are held. The O.L.V.-ter-Duinenkerk was built between 1350 and 1400 and this is where James Ensor is buried. This Flemish painter is seen as the innovator of modern art in Belgium. In 2010, it will be 150 years since he was born in Ostend, which will be remembered with several exhibitions of his work. In the James Ensor House showcases filled with crazy, bizarre and strange objects are displayed.
