Description

Hotel van der Maas is situated in the centre of the picturesque town Ootmarsum. This cosy family-run hotel exists for over a hundred years. There are three official nature reserves to be found in the near surroundings, that are very inviting to walkers and cyclists.

With the atmospheric family-run Hotel van der Maas as a starting point, the lovely city Ootmarsum can easily be explored on foot. The town is renowned for its half-timbered houses, historic premises and galleries. With a rental bicycle of the hotel you can discover the outstanding natural beauty of the surrounding area. The staff at the reception desk will gladly inform you about nice routes and supply you with free maps of the region. The slanting scenery with woods, heath and pastures attracts thousands of tourists a year.

The 20 comfortable rooms all have their unique atmosphere. They offer guests a place to completely unwind. Every room is provided with a bath or shower, toilet, a television, telephone, radio alarm clock and cosy sitting area. For an extensive dinner on a high culinary level, one should visit the hotel's restaurant. Guests can enjoy the characteristic atmosphere of the 'Twente' region on the outside terrace on sunny days.

Breakfast is served daily from 08:00 to 10:00 h.
Guests can enjoy a savoury lunch or dinner in the hotel's restaurant. The kitchen is known for its culinary delight and elaborate choice. The restaurant is open from 12:00 to 20:15 h. On Sunday it closes at 20:00 h.

Internet

Guests with a laptop can use the wireless Internet connection through KPN HotSpots at an additional charge in the entire hotel.

Other information

- The hotel does not have a 24-hour reception. Guests can check in until 22:00 h. If you wish to check in at a later time, you need to inform the reception in advance.
- Pets are not allowed.
- Luggage can be stored at the hotel.

Surroundings

The surroundings of Hotel van der Maas Ootmarsum are characterized by the slanting scenery. The highest point in the area is on top of the 'Kuipersberg'. A so called 'orientation table' can be found there. This is a square stone on which the buildings are marked that can be seen at the horizon. It is a popular viewing point. On bright days one can see even further than 10 kilometres away, across the German border.
