In the spring of 2009, Hotel Aan 't Wad in Pieterburen opened its doors to the guests. The hotel is located in a building that previously served as a christian primary school. Hotel guests have on con concessions access to spa Waddenwellness. This spa you can relax in the pool, hammam, sauna, Turkish bath and whirlpool in an oriental atmosphere. Several treatments are possible.
On the ground floor there are two hotel rooms accessible for wheelchairs. The other four rooms are on the first floor. From these rooms you look out on the famous seal nursery. The rooms include a cozy sitting area, box-spring beds, a flatscreen television and a modern bathroom with a washbasin, shower and toilet. You have access to wireless Internet and coffee and tea making facilities are available as well.
Food and Drinks
Breakfast is served in Restaurant Waddengenot, opposite Hotel Aan 't Wad. You can have breakfast from 08:00 to 10:00 h.
For lunch and dinner you are also at the right place in this restaurant. The home cooked meals will surely taste good after a mudflat walkking trip or a day out in the area. For children there is a playground with bouncy castles and trampolines next door. The restaurant is open from 10:00 to 22:00 h. For a drink or a game of billiards, you can visit the nearby Grand Cafe Bij de Buren van Pieter.

- The hotel does not have a 24-hour reception. Guests can check in until 18:00 h. In case you would like to check in after 18:00 h., you need to contact the reception in advance.

Near Hotel Aan 't Wad Pieterburen there's much to experience fun for young and old. Children will surely enjoy themselves in the seal sanctuary and in the nearby playground. At about 30 kilometers from here lies the city Groningen, where you'll find great shops and the striking Groninger Museum. National park Lauwersmeer is great for cycling, walking and bird-watching.
