Herberg de Waard van Ternaard is a hospitable hotel with an interior full of atmosphere. It is established in an authentic Frisian countryhouse, and is furnished with wood and marble. The inn was decorated by Pilat & Pilat. The hotel has a car park, a restaurant, a garden and an outdoor terrace on the lovely village square, where you'll be able to soak up the rays of sunshine. Ternaard itself is a beautiful village with friendly residents.
You'll be given a warm welcome at the inn, and will sleep soundly in the wonderful beds. Each room is unique and tastefully furnished with a combination of natural materials. Your culinary needs will be met with excellence at Herberg de Waard van Ternaard. The food is outstanding and entirely organic. Seasonal ingredients are skillfully prepared, with produce mainly stemming from the local region; sometimes even farmed exclusively for the inn. Fish is delivered daily. You can lunch or dine at the restaurant. The elaborate breakfast consists of fresh, home-baked bread, and a large selection of sweet and savoury fillings.
Hergberg de Waard van Ternaard is situated in a historic building dating from 1860. This former inn lies on the village square. At the inn you can hire bikes, and there are various lovely cycling and walking routes in the area. You can cycle around the Lauwersmeer national park, and enjoy the vast landscape. You can also explore the area by boat or go sailing on the Lauwersmeer lake. A trip to the islands of Ameland or Schiermonnikoog is also recommended.
