Around the former Zuiderzee sea there are a number of historic towns that are worth visiting, such as Edam, Volendam, Monnickendam and Hoorn. The area De Zaanse Schans is famous for its mills, traditional green houses and old trades, and gives a good image of what the area Zaanstreek used to look like during the Golden Age. Food and Drinks
The American breakfast buffet is set up on Monday through Friday from 07:00 to 10:00 h. and on weekends from 07:00 to 10:30 h.
Restaurant Magnolia's is listed in the Michelin guide. For a lunch or a three-course dinner (until 23:00 h.) this is the perfect spot. The head chef creates surprising dishes.

Surprisingly long walking distances to some of the rooms! To reach (or leave) the rooms located in the end of the corridor, you certainly had to walk quite a while and there was only the one entrance (enough emergency exits of course - just inconvenient, not dangerous!)

Suggestion: the "Mass Transportation" (bus and train, including the map of bus stops) can be put on hotel homepage, and e-mail to the guests. Actually it is not too complicated from Amsterdam to Waterland by bus, but the bus stop of Amsterdam Central Train Station is not easy to find.
