• – Uw hotel beschikt niet over een ruimte bij de ingang om rustig op iemand te zitten wachten. Mijn man kon niet lang staan. Elke keer opnieuw moest ik iemand om een stoel vragen.

• + This hotel is very handy for a holiday in Amsterdam. There is a bus stop a short walk from the hotel and a 301 bus takes you to the centre in about 20 minutes at a cost of 10 euros return

Comfortable Hotel, good value for money

• + Close to Purmerend shopping centre, nice location, easy access.
• – The Safe in the room did not work. this was reported but no action was taken. Lack of tea making facilities.

• + Very efficient staff in the Restaurant
• – Room cleaning the last 3 days was terrible, and it was odd that we were asked to settle our bill half way our stay. Breakfast was very restricted.

Conveniently located full service hotel offering great value.

• + Efficient, helpful staff, both at the desk and in the restaurant. We stayed in the older part of the hotel - the room was very large with equally large, bright windows and a good seating area. The restaurant offered very good quality meals; buffet breakfast was also good and plentiful. Very handy location for tourists.
• – The bathroom was quite small, but the detractor (as in so many Dutch hotels) was the lack of an exhaust fan to remove steam following showers, especially in a bathroom without a window. A little dusty,,,
• * my tip This hotel is great value for the money and is located close to all the major tourist sights in the North Holland region (Amsterdam by bus, Zaanse Schans, Marken/Volendam/Edam, Zuider Zee Museum etc). The inner city pedestrian shopping area of Purmerend is a short walk away.

Best Beemster Stay

• + Location, staff attitude and general "minor" attributes like free Wi-Fi made this hotel the best of six we stayed in during our 16 day tour of the Netherlands and France.
• – Worst aspect of the room, but no reason for complaint or cause for concern, was the location directly abutting the entrance, which did lead to minor disturbances with late night visitors leaving after a night out.
• * my tip Yes - book well ahead of time: The hotel is desirable!

A great hotel in a lovely town!

Well worth a visit both to the hotel and the town centre.

• + This hotel well deserves its three stars. It is smaller, friendlier and more intimate than many four and five star hotels visited during my working life.
• – Hardly any negatives, perhaps a little more attention to the bathroom would be worthwhile.
• * my tip Easy access from Schiphol by train - 31 mins and a pleasant 20 mins walk to the hotel - by car it is situated very close to junction 5 of the motorway just before the bridge into the "centrum", the bird on the roof is the clue, rather than the name. It takest only 5 mins to walk to the central square, Koemakkt, with its many terrasses.

Comfortable hotel with great facilities

• + I was in the main building. Large, comfortable room. Fantastic breakfast, huge range of stuff to eat, very tasty. English speaking staff. Excellent parking. Close to public transport. Internet free and easy to use. Comfy bed.
• – Very steep steps up to the room. No curtain in bathroom. Difficult to get attention of someone for dinner table. Had to pay on arrival.

value for money hotel

• + Friendly staff, good atmosphere and food.
• – small bathroom. I couldn't even wash my face properly because of the wrong position of tray under mirror.

Quality cheap alternative city hostels, with private room

• + €30 a night in Purmerend, would have cost four times as much for two at a hostel in Amsterdam near new years. Very good pancake house near by on Gedempte Singelarcht. Accessible from Amsterdam via bus (€10 day passes).
• – Thirty minute bus ride from city, buses stop running at midnight.

Another one of Holland's little gems.

• + Walking distance (5 mins) to the centre of Purmerend. Easy to access Amsterdam via Bus in about 30 mins to Central Station. Great location to explore this part of the Netherlands. Very helpful staff. Parking easy. Even if you have business in Amsterdam, this location offers a peaceful and relaxing alternative. I would definately use again.
• – Small shower.

Facilities are good, but service are poor. No travel information.

• + Nice and friendly Staff, easy communication. Quiet, Calm. Nice environment. Not far from Amsterdam by car. I recommend it. Très belle salle de bain (douche et belle baignoire séparées) ;) un 3* au même prix mais rien à voir avec les 2* de france
• – petit hotel pas dâ™ascenseur. plus pour les jeunes/ small Hotel, no elevator. Recommended for young people.

Great hotel for visiting Amsterdam and Waterland

• + Very clean and smart hotel. The staff were friendly and the room was comfortable and spacious. Plenty of parking and frequent buses to the centre of Amsterdam. We had planned to have a special anniversary dinner in Amsterdam but the hotel restaurant was so good that we stayed there.
• – Very steep stairs to our room in the main building. It was not a problem for us but believe guests should be warned when booking.

• – Wir sind schon enttäuscht Der Eingangsbereich, insbesondere Beleuchtung ist schmutzig und mit vielen Spinnweben behaftet. Das Zimmer war nicht gesaugt, da wir einen Ohrring auf dem Boden vom Vorgänger gefunden haben. Nachtschränke waren nicht vom Staub befreit und der Müll wurde nach der ersten Übernachtung nicht entfernt. Ausserdem gab es ein mangelhaftes Frühstück am Abreisetag. Keine frischen Brötchen und Rührei und Speck fehlten auch. Wir haben einen besseren Service in einem Van der Valk Hotel in Spornitz / Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Germany erlebt und waren dort sehr zufrieden.
