Near the Frisian village of Rijs, in a very wooded area, stands the friendly building in which Hotel Gaasterland Rijs is housed. This friendly atmosphere is well-maintained by the staff, they enjoy giving good service to each guest. At the hotel you can rent bicycles and scooters. When picking out a beautiful trip, the hotel staff gladly advices you and various routes are available. There is a lockable bike shed. Hikers can make beautiful excursions from the hotel as well.

Hotel Gaasterland lies in the southwest of the beautiful provinceFriesland, near the lake IJsselmeer and in the vicinity of a number of cities. The picturesque harbor, the legend of the Lady of Stavoren and the historic buildings give visitors the feeling that they are taking a step back in time. Lovers of water sports can visit the lake IJsselmeer for fishing, swimming, boating, surfing and sailing. Those who can not sail, can take part in a sail boat tour, for example on the Frisian Lakes.
