Hotel Restaurant Jans has a wonderful location at the 'Rijsterbos'. Here you can enjoy the view of the Frysian meadows. On a bicyle you can make a trip along seven of the eleven cities that are part of the ice-skating tour 'Elfstedentocht'. At just 3 kilometres from the hotel lies the coast of the 'IJsselmeer' lake. Bird watchers can visit a nature reserve here. The beach at the 'Mirnser Klif' is suitable for kite surfing.
In the hotel you can choose from two room types. The nine Hotel Rooms are situated on the first and second floor of the main building. In the room you will find a bathroom with a toilet, wash basin and a bath or shower. The hotel's garden offers several Swedish chalets, that house the Garden Rooms. This room type has a private entrance and a small terrace. Furthermore there are a bathroom with a toilet, wash basin and both a shower and bath. For business meetings the hotel offers two spacious meeting rooms. The hospitable service and the homely rooms ensure a pleasant stay.
Food and Drinks
In the hotel guests can enjoy a breakfast buffet, which is set up daily from 07:30 to 10:00 h.
The restaurant offers a small lunch menu and from 17:30 to 20:30 h. the kitchen is open for dinner. Here you can enjoy excellent à la carte dishes with a matching glass of wine. You can also opt for a culinary menu and let the kitchen staff surprise you with their skills. The hotel also has a bar.
Internet
With their own laptop guests can use wireless Internet at an additional charge through KPN HotSpots. Tickets for the use of Internet are available at the reception.

- The hotel does not have a 24-hour reception. Guests can check in until 22:00 h.

Hotel Restaurant Jans is located in the Frysian village Rijs, on the edge of the 'Rijsterbos'. In these woods, which is part of the national landscape 'Gaasterland', you can enjoy hiking. Water sports enthusiasts will certainly enjoy themselves, given the proximity of the 'IJsselmeer' lake and the Frysian lakes. Nice towns to visit are Hindeloopen and Workum. In the 'Jopie Huismanmuseum' in Workum visitors can admire works of the renowned Dutch painter.
