A stay at Hotel Het Arresthuis, is certainly a special experience. This historic location was never voluntarily visited between 1863 and 2007. But now, since April 2011, guests gladly come here to enjoy the luxury and comfort.
Het Arresthuis used to be a detention centre before slipping into disuse for some years. In 2002 it was used once again as a makeshift building to detain so-called 'body packers'. The jail was permanently closed in 2007, and was swiftly followed by structural renovation, transforming this prison into a hotel.
The prison used to have 105 cells, which have been converted into comfortable hotel rooms. Seven suites were created where the prison manager's chambers used to be. The names of the suites refer to the memorable jailhouse era: the manager, the warder, the lawyer and the judge. Three former cells were used to make each comfort room and the recreational areas were converted to make deluxe rooms. Both types of rooms are fitted with all conveniences, such as a double bed, desk, sitting area, safe, minibar, flat screen television and a private bathroom with a rainshower and toilet.
Food and Drinks
Breakfast is served on weekdays and Saturdays from 06:30 till 10:30 and on Sundays from 08:00 till 11:00. Restaurant Diamax is open from Monday through to Saturday from 12:00 till 15:00 for lunch and from 17:30 till 22:00 for dinner. The team in the kitchen will surprise you with fresh and contemporary products. Weather permitting, you can also enjoy the tasty food and drinks on the patio terrace or in the inner courtyard garden, which used to be the exercise yard. You are also welcome in the bar, before as well as after dinner. The bar is open daily from 11:00 till 01:00.

- An extra bed cannot be placed in a room.
- The hotel has special rooms for guests with a disability. These rooms can be booked on request.

Surroundings
Hotel Het Arresthuis lies in the centre of Roermond. There's much to do and experience in and around this city. You can enjoy shopping in the centre or unwinding on one of the outdoor cafés. There are lovely walking and cycling routes leading through De Meinweg National Park. You can also try various water sports on the Maasplassen lakes. Lovers of culture should visit the Stedelijk Museum.

Should you wish to reach the hotel using satellite navigation, please enter Steegstraat and NOT Pollartstraat.
- From the Steegstraat, keep driving and follow the road until you come to the Swalmerstraat.
- Take the second turn on your left; this is the Lindasstraat.
- Drive straight ahead and past the junction.
- You have now arrived on the Pollartstraat. On your left is the Hotel Het Arresthuis. Immediately after the hotel and on your left-hand side is the entrance to the car park.
