Hotel was central, could walk downtown and to the museums. Very helpful staff
–
Had asked for a "garden room", but was put on the street side, which was a bit busy. Fortunately it was a holiday, so the next day it was very quiet. Breakfast was not included, and I resented having to pay 20 euro p.p. for a breakfast. There was no need for a great big buffet, but a continental breakfast option should have been offered.

The most polite and overtly helpful staff you could imagine. We have an 11 month old, and they arranged for a cot, and to have a ground floor room for push chair access which they got ready for us within half an our of our "4 hour early" arrival. The staff recommended good areas for eating and shopping. They even bought a gift pack in for our son.... with bib, toy, and spoon. Considering we were in the hotel for one night, all the staff made every effort to make us feel welcome. Check in and out was efficient, and they simply asked us if we had incurred any extra charges, rather then fuss about checking the mini bar etc.

If i have to write a minus point its that the room service menu could have been a little bit more varied.

Some of the staff were helpful and polite. Jose was extremely helpful as was the doorman working on the Friday lunchtime. The hotel was nice and comfortable.

I was a business traveller so the hotel was mainly a place to sleep and shower bit the following things were annoying.
There was an inflexibility but these were minor if slightly irritating issues.
For example, when asking about late check out we were told extremely bluntly 12 noon or an extra 50 Euro's per hour thereafter. It's not the amount but the way it was said. Very unfriendly. This was the Saturday night staff. Approx 23oo hours. Then on Sunday evening at approx 1830 hours, I asked if it was ok to take a paper from the big pile of newspapers which were clearly not going to be read and prob placed in the bin later to be told again, quite bluntly I could "borrow it" but must return it. This was one of 5 copies of the Sunday times they had sitting there.
I do a lot of business with the Dutch and am used to things being lost in translation but this was a case of "it is not what you do but the way that you do it.
A tiny point that feels almost petty. The shower was a nightmare! Too hot, too cold but nothing in between otherwise good.
