Hotel Royal Sas van Gent lies in the province of Zeeland. It lies near the Belgium-Dutch border, about 20 kilometres from Ghent and 30 kilometres from Flushing. Sas van Gent is located along the waterway Ghent-Terneuzen and ships used to sail via the locks to Ghent. The name Sas van Gent means 'Lock of Ghent'.
