City Hotel Scheveningen is situated at just 100 metres from the beach in the centre of this seaside resort. The Circus Theatre and the casino are within short walking distance. The City Hotel Scheveningen is the perfect accommodation for both business and leisure travellers. From here, Den Haag (The Hague), Rotterdam and Amsterdam are easily accessible by public transport. Functional hotel close to the beach, centre and tram.

The hotel is a couple of minutes walk from the beach and even closer to the tram stop. It is a functional hotel which suited us fine. Parking is 9 euro a day for a permit to park on the street. An adaquate breakfast is included in the price.

None really, maybe not the most comfertable room in the worl and it could do with a lick of paint but the place is fine really.

Nice quiet room, bad maintenance, crappy breakfast

Nice room for the price, especially the balcony. Following earlier advice, do ask for a room in back. Soundproofing in-house is non-existant but the neighborhood is quiet.

Bad maintenance - ceiling lamp was lacking three bulbs out of four, so check your lighting straight away. Shower head came off in my hand. Breakfast is truly bad, with fruit drink substitute instead of juice and one kind of rubbery cheese that is curling up at the edges. I've had much better even in the same price range. Also, breakfast starts quite late, only at 8am, no good if you are traveling for work, and you will not be able to get in even one minute earlier.

Don't expect any more than you pay!

Sınce there aren't many "plus points" to poınt out, I would mention the hotel's location whıch makes it attatractive and the comparatively low price. I would rather suggest this hostel for those who is lookıng for some bed and nothing more.

There is no doubt that the rooms should be renovated, because the room itself smells badly. When the cleanıng lady comes she doesn't clean anything. In fact, she just exchanges the towels and cleans (sometimes) the bean. The restaurant located some doors away from the hotel itself has nothing to offer except some basıc drinks.

Was told I would get a take away breakfast but they forgot for 2 of the days. Also they allow people to smoke in the lobby (even though this is illegal) so the smell gets into the rooms very easily even though they are non-smoking.

Cheap and nasty.

The Hotel was clean, breakfast was acceptable, and I was able to occupy my room prior to 13:00 hrs. the staff were polite.

The hotel has no lifts as it appears the units are converted houses, on entry through door number 3 I was faced with a very steep staircase up to room 30, this access was not very easy with a heavy suite case, and would be impossible for a disabled person to negosiate the stairs, there is no fire exit, my room had no tea/coffee making facilities which I brought to the attention to the owners on leaving and got a negative responce, also the hotel does not provide any hot food within it's restaurant, being a diabetic this was very inconvenient, the staff who were polite, were unable to convers in english, no I will not be returning to Hotel City in future.

On arrival two of the three light in my room were not working (these were fixed on request). It was a basic single room, not en-suite, but when I used the nearby toilet, the door handle came off in my hand! This was also fixed. Breakfast was in a separate bulding (a restaurant) a few doors down the street.

Goedkoop verblijf op loopafstand van leuke dingen, stel geen eisen.

Het hotel was niet erg duur. Lokatie was redelijk dicht (loopafstand) bij de boulevard, strand en het centrum. Je kreeg eigen sleutels voor hoofdingang en kamer, waardoor je zelf kon bepalen hoe laat je thuiskwam.

Alle communicatie moest in het Engels. De douchekop was lam. Het gordijn was stuk. De afstandsbediening van de tv deed het alleen van een meter afstand. Het ontbijt was slecht ( harde croisants, harde pasta, onafgebakken broodjes, geen koffiemelk) en ze namen de tafels af met een kruimeldief. Jaren '70 uitstraling en geur.

Met klein beetje moeite meer........... perfect Hotel.

Uitstekende locatie. Scheveningen centrum op enkele honderden meters. Geen drukke straat.

Die zentrale Lage. Auch nach Den Haag nur 10 Minuten mit der Straßenbahn. Nettes Personal. Frühstück ausreichend. Der Preis ist gemessen an den generell hohen, fast überzogenen Preisen in ganz Scheveningen recht moderat, entsprechend wenig kann man wohl erwarten.

Hygiene, vor allem im Bad. Renovierungsbedürftig. TV funktioniert nicht. Fön funktioniert nicht (wurde aber auf Anfrage durch ein portables Gerät ersetzt). Nur der junge Mann an der Rezeption sprach Englisch, das Reinigungspersonal nicht.

Een leuk en goedkoop hotel, zonder veel luxe.

Een leuk hotel voor weinig geld, je moet niet verwachten dat je in een super luxe hotel terecht komt, maar voor een nacht slapen na een vrijgezellenfeestje is het de ideale locatie. Het ontbijt was goed geregeld, veel keuze en veel koffie! Het personeel was vriendelijk!

Het plafond van de badkamer was enigszins beschimmeld, en na het doorspoelen van het toilet, kwam er erg langzaam weer water in het reservoir, daardoor moest de volgende bezoeker van het toilet even wachten.

Nett, unkompliziert, alles Erforderliche ist da, die Lage zum Strand (auch im November noch schön) ist hervorragend, der Preis ausschlaggebend für die im ganzen positive Bewertung.

Die extrem steilen, schmalen, kurztrittigen Treppen im Hotelgebäude sind indiskutabel und für Personen mit auch nur geringer körperlicher Beeinträchtigung wohl nicht zu bewältigen, zumal nicht mit Gepäck. Die Nachttischlampe funktionierte gar nicht, wobei nicht erkennbar war, warum. Das "Komfortzimmer" ist deutlich verwohnt, der Fenster-Vorhang wartet nur darauf, bei einem kräftigen Zug herunterzufallen.
