Hotel guests can use the free shuttle bus to and from the airport between 06:00 and 23:45 h. that runs every 30 minutes.

The location of the hotel is perfect, at just 4 kilometres of Schiphol Airport and at 20 kilometres from the vibrant city centre of Amsterdam. At the reception you can rent a bike and the staff can give you lots of tourist information. The free shuttle bus brings you swiftly to the airport, where you will also find a train and bus station. This will enable you to visit beautiful cities such as Amsterdam, Haarlem and Utrecht.

The excellent Radisson Blu Amsterdam Airport hotel has 279 rooms with the choice of an Oriental, Scandinavian or Maritime design. All rooms in the hotel are equipped with air conditioning, a private safe, a tea and coffee maker, and during your stay you can make free use of wireless Internet. There are also business-class rooms with extra comfortable facilities and specifically adapted rooms for disabled people. For meetings and events there are 15 multifunctional rooms in the hotel. All guests can enjoy the 'RS Plexus Health and Fitness' at no extra charge. Besides fitness equipment this facility boasts a sauna, steam baths and a solarium. Massages and physiotherapy are available on appointment.

In the morning between 06:30 and 10:30 h. you can enjoy the Super Breakfast Buffet. On top of that there is 24-hour room service. For a light lunch and international dishes you can visit the restaurant 'The Lighthouse', which is open daily from 10:00 to 01:00 h. and from 11:30 h. in the weekend. The 'Talavera Restaurant' offers an excellent environment where you can enjoy Mediterranean meals. This restaurant is open from Monday to Thursday between 18:00 and 22:30 h. Unwind after a busy day in 'Rodolpho's Bar Lounge' with a drink, a cocktail and a quick meal. This bar is open daily from 10:00 to 01:00 h. and from 11:30 h. in the weekend.

- Having traveled in so many countries and places, we were not impressed by the quality of the staff you have at the reception desk. They are unhelpful, to say the least. One does not have a feel that they are there for the customers. I would give the hotel for customer service a low score of 3 points out of 10 In our booking, it was stated that breakfast would be included. While registering, when we arrived, we mentioned that breakfast was included (just to check). The lady at the reception told us that this was not. We requested that she checks, but she was very curt and told us âœI see your registration on the screen, and breakfast was notâ. We insisted that it was, but she did not change her mind. In other hotels, they would have said something like this âœmadam, if you have copy of your booking, I can perhaps seeâ¦â. None of that. Very unhelpful. They were behaving as though the customer is there to take advantage⦠On the following day, because we were convinced that when we booked the hotel, breakfast was included, we went again at the desk, and this time there was another person. She told us the same thing, saying that she has all the papers in front of her. We insisted that we wanted to check the e-mail Radisson sent when we booked. Sure enough, we were able to recover the e-mail and breakfast was included. A mistake can happen, we are all humans. What bothers us the most is that both ladies at the reception desk did not seem motivated to help the customer, to check the paperwork. In the hospitality business, service to the customer is the most important. They frankly came across unhelpful. Why should the customers have to go through all of this? On that same morning, we enquired what time breakfast will be served. She told us they close at 11:00 am. Around 10:20 am as we went to the restaurant, the people there told us that they are closing. So, we have to rush to have our breakfast. We asked if we could eat outside, they first told us that outside is closed, then after 5 min, she came and she said ok, but âœI do not serve outsideâ. As I realized that perhaps other people may be in the same predicament, I told her that she should inform the reception desk about their mistake so other people do not go through the same thing. She did, and a lady came to apologize to us. Finally, the air conditioning in the room could work better, not adjustable, a bit warmer, even when set at 15 degrees. Another thing, this being an international brand, near the airport, with so many international visitors, I may suggest that you have more choices of channels on TV. No French channel, for example.

A first experience at arrival, the need to have to wait for the bus at Shiphol Airport at temperatures of minus 5 after ten hours flight was negative. However, the service by the driver and the fact that the bus drives at fixed regular times made things far better. A quick adaptation which secured our two days pleasant stay.
- The whole night there was a disturbing sound, probably from the elevator or from the door of the service storage at the 4th floor.

- I´ve stayed here twice and while I´m not very familiar with the area, there do not seem to be any restaurants within walking distance. Hotel restaurant prices are high for the casual traveler but you can get a reasonable sandwich or salad at the bar. Drinks are pricy, minibar is exorbitant and don´t even think of using the room phone unless you have a real emergency because the prices are contenders for a Guinness record.

We felt welcome and comfortable from the minute we entered the hotel till the moment we left. The room was well appointed and equipped with quality (although not lavish) fittings. The Bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was a good size with easy to use fittings, instant hot water and good pressure in the shower. A simple keycode or swipe-card operated safe. Good views from large windows, very good low noise a/c good thermostatic control and fan speed setting. The coffee machine made quite nice espressos and is a very nice touch. Also sperate standard coffee and tea facilities, glasses and Ice bucket for the Ice machine dotted around the floors. Superb dutch-continental style breakfast with choice of eggs, cold cuts and fresh pastry basket. Ok as a brit it's not quite same as bacon, sausage, black pudding etc. But it was very nice and substantial. And well delivered and presented in our room on a trolley/table. We received a very pleasnant gift of chocolate dipped strawberries as we mentioned it was out anniversary. Which were delicious. Overall the hotel has a strong focus on customer service which makes for a pleasant stay. Sceptics may see that the objective is to promote expenditure in the rather over-priced bar and restaurant. However those who are less concerned with value for money (or with company expense accounts) will be very pleased.
- An out of date half eaten salad was left in the mini-bar fridge from previous guests. Which was a shame as the general room hygiene and preparation of the room was excellent. However it felt a mute point for us with regard to the general quality of the room. The rooms could benefit from slightly softer carpet and perhaps a more updated television. We were interrupted a couple of times by someone bring us a single chocolate thin. I am not sure why these could not just have been left on the pillows? (perhaps the cleaners have developed a taste for them?) The room service menu was limited although burger lovers will not be dissapointed. The restaurant menu was very limited (soup or soup for starters?), a bit overpriced and the steak I ordered was small, dry and lacked taste. A little disappointing to be honest, but edible. Rather expensive drinks Overall: An improvement in menu variation and food quality of certain dishes would be well received. 5 Star chain competitors such as Hilton and Crowne Plaza are by far superior in this regard.
