On the old market of Sittard lies the 3-star Hotel De Limbourg. It is situated in an old building that dates from 1688. The Gothic Sint-Petrus' Stoel van Antiochië basilica can be found in the city centre. The monumental half-timbered houses that characterise the province of Limburg can also be found in Sittard.

The rooms of De Limbourg are all equipped with a private bathroom with a shower or bath and a toilet. Guests can also use the telephone, a television and wireless internet in the rooms. In the hotel you can meet with some friends or relatives in the lounge of the grand café, have a bite in the restaurant or order a drink on the (heated) terrace. For business meetings and receptions there are two rooms available.

Food and Drinks

The breakfast buffet is served on weekdays from 07:00 until 10:00 h. and on the weekend from 08:00 until 10:00 h.
The restaurant offers a varied menu, which includes regional dishes. Seasonal vegetables are used to prepare the creative dishes. In the lounge guests can also enjoy tapas, small snacks and nice drinks. The wine cellar is stacked with carefully selected wines. There are also some local wines to be tasted. At restaurant De Kroon a Wine & Dine guests can enjoy a drink or a bite to eat as well.

In the entire hotel guests can use a wireless internet connection free of charge.

- The hotel does not have a 24-hour reception. Guests who wish to check in after midnight need to contact the reception in advance by telephone.

Hotel de Limbourg lies in the middle of the province of Limburg, in the attractive town of Sittard. The night life is concentrated around the old market. All throughout the year Sittard hosts many local and regional folkloric and cultural events. From the city guests can also make interesting day trips to Maastricht and Aachen. The surroundings are perfect for a good walk or bike ride.

Barbara Myers Best hotel, service and food in Sittard!!: 20 October 2011; 10; + I highly recommend Hotel Limbourg for it's excellent service, great location and it's outstanding friendly staff. The staff was very accomodating and went out of their way to ensure our stay was a memorable one. Fantastic dining with a great variety of food choices. Very clean and comfortable so much so that this will be my hotel of choice whenever I travel to Sittard to visit friends!; - My stay was so great that I really do not have anything negative to say about my stay or the hotel.

We returned because the management is extremely pleasant and helpful, and the hotel is on the central square of historic Sittard. It is comfortable without unnecessary trappings, and the city itself is full of interesting shops and old buildings.; - None.

Leonie van Rijn Prettig ingerichte kamer met bromtoon: 6 September 2010; 7.4; + De kamer ziet er fris en modern uit. Ruime badkamer en prima douche. Ook de opgang heeft een prettige uitstraling.; - Het hotel ligt aan de Markt van Sittard, dus enig geluidsoverlast mag je verwachten. Dan is het toch vervelend dat de meeste geluidsoverlast niet van buiten komt, maar wordt veroorzaakt door het ventilatiesysteem in het hotel zelf (dependance). Daar moet toch iets tegen te doen zijn, zou je denken....

Graeme Cant A good choice if you want to see Sittard: 1 September 2009; 7.4; + Excellent location in centre of Sittard right on the market square where there are numerous bars, cafes and restaurants. The main shopping is located on the streets leading off the square. Room we were allocated (#37)was clean,functional and very quiet being situated in a small annexe section of the hotel just off the square.; - Locating the hotel is not easy as it is not visible from any surrounding roads - detailed directions or sat-nav are essential!!! Access and parking are a problem as this very limited. The stairs up to the room were very steep with the individual steps being very narrow and as such are not be suitable for anyone who has any mobility problems.

L. van Rijn Sfeervol, modern maar ook gehorig: 3 May 2009; 6.8; + Sfeervolle kamer, netjes, modern van inrichting. De kamer heeft een eigen ingang en een klein achterplaatsje. Prima uitvalsbasis als je een paar dagen in Sittard bent.; - Erg lawaaiig in en rond de kamer; straatlawaai, geluid van afzuigers van naastgelegen restaurant, ventilatiesysteem in kamer. Het oude pand is zelf ook gehorig, je kunt de bovenburen uitstekend horen.

patrick mccullough Not good value.: 26 April 2009; 5.4; + Good location, cheap car parking.; - Breakfast was very bad, stale Rolls only 4, (Hotdog Rolls) When I asked for aboiled Egg, was told they didnt have any, even if they had a restruant? was offered two week old painted eggs from Easter. They tried to charge me 30 Euros more than was quoted until I complained. Have stayed here before but would not again the standards have dropped and the Female on at Breakfast was not going to do more than she had to.

Chenoa: 30 December 2007; 9.6; + Right in the center of the market, you can't get a better location. The rooms are spotless and the staff is wonderfuly helpful. Rooms overlooking the market have a beautiful view, great for people watching. I've stayed three different times, you won't find a better hotel in Sittard!; - It's a bit pricy, though there aren't a lot of other options. But the price is definately worth the convenience.

Strange smell in bathroom disappeared after shower. No heating at times....heating controls located in another room! Bed positioned in the eves of the attic..if you raised head during sleep then you get a nasty bump! Bed too short.

Storm Wat een leuk hotel is Hotel de Limbourg te Sittard!: 22 May 2012; 8.0; + Leuke sfeer en prachtige locatie. Erg gastvrij personeel. Het kunnen parkeren zo kort bij was ook heel fijn. Ontbijt was heel goed (fairtrade!!).; - De kamer vond ik triest. Voelde me een beetje weggestopt. Gelukkig kon er wel een raam open, maar dan hoorde de afzuiger (van de keuken?).

GUsta Een leuke plek om te overnachten: 30 November 2010; 7.2; + sfeer en comfort. Het was heerlijk schoon. Het hotel ziet er mooi uit en het viel ons daarom een beetje tegen dat we naar de dependance om de hoek moesten. De plek zo midden in de stad is geweldig met leuke kroegen op het plein.; - Bij het ontbijt misten we stevig bruin brood en er was erg gezoet sap. Jammer want ze promoten dat ze eco zijn. Verder graag een lampje bij de deur van de dependance, nu was het slot vinden lastig.

Ed Schoemaker Aardig hotel maar te duur: 1 October 2010; 6.4; + Mooie ligging in het centrum, karakteristieke uitstraling; - Broodjes te laat voor het ontbijt (was niet de eerste keer vlgs andere gasten en personeel) dus vertrokken met slechts een cracker. Werd verder niets over gezegd door het management, erg slordig.

Anonymous Zeer comfortabel, centraal gelegen, hotel met prima personeel: 27 September 2010; 8.0; + Vriendelijkheid van personeel! Zeer goed ontbijtbuffet. Prima restaurant.; - Bedden. Liggen prima, maar op matras ligt een soort plastic mat met broeierig slapen als gevolg. Harde kussens.

JW Was een teleurstelling: 27 September 2010; 6.0; + Vriendelijk personeel, mooie ligging in centrum.; - Zeer matige kamer, met elke ochtend lawaai van tafels schuiven om ca. 06h00. Stoffige kamer met doorgezakt matras, tevens een 2 persoonskamer geboekt maar dan we een dikke buis in het midden van het bed, hierdoor lag een ieder echt apart van elkaar. Als we het raam open deden hoorde we constant een motor draaien, hierdoor niet lekker met raam open kunnen slapen. Dus zeer warme aangelegenheid op de kamer.

Anoniem Leuk hotel, maar badruimte onvoldoende: 7 September 2010; 7.6; + Locatie was prima; - Wij hadden een superdeluxe arrangement geboekt, maar kregen dat niet. De kamer was redelijk groot, maar de doucheruimte was ontzettend klein. Gelukkig zijn wij alle twee slank, maar anders konden wij niet tussen wastafel en toilet!!
