Description
The characteristic building of Hotel de Oorsprong, which dates from 1884, still breathes the atmosphere of times gone by. The former equerry's dwelling and the two drawing rooms are still exactly as they were in the old days. It will not be hard to picture the proud black Frisian horses grazing in the meadow in front of the stud farm. In the hotel guests can obtain free walking and biking routes to explore the country estate 'Vegilinbossen' and its surroundings. For golfers, there is an 18-hole golf course within walking distance from the hotel, the 'BurgGolf St. Nicolaasga'.
In the hotel you can first enjoy an aperitif and then enjoy an extensive meal. The rooms of have a shower, toilet, and television. In the morning you can enjoy a good breakfast in the breakfast area, where the heavy beams on the ceiling remind of the stable that used to be here. Hotel de Oorsprong has six conference rooms for parties and business meetings, which together can seat approximately 200 persons.

Surroundings
Hotel de Oorsprong has a wonderful location at the country estate 'Vegilinbossen'. The 'Tjeukermeer' lake to the west of the hotel is not only perfect for walking, bikeriding, and swimming, but also for watersports, such as sailing. In Joure, which is approximately 4.5 kilometres from the hotel, you can find an indoor and outdoor swimming pool as well as an 18-hole golf course. Other nice towns to visit in the area are Langweer, Lemmer, Sneek, and Sloten. In Sint Nicolaasga the 'St. Nicolaaskerk' church really stands out. Behind this church you can find a remarkable monument, a replica of the 'Lourdes' cave.
