The cosy Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Steenwijk is located near the town of Steenwijk, in the North-West Overijssel region, and is very popular with tourists. The hotel is a good base from which to explore this region. Nice walks can be taken on de Eese estate, east of Steenwijk. You can also take cycling trips through the woods and heathlands near the villages of Havelte and Dwingeloo. Giethoorn lies south of the hotel. This village is often dubbed 'the Venice of the Netherlands'. To the west of the hotel lies de Weerribben national park, a lovely area with lakes, bogs and haylands.
