Downstairs is a cosy sitting room, and a kitchen with tea and coffee making facilities. There is also a bathroom with a toilet. Upstairs is a princely double bed, which is situated beneath the diagonal roof of the attic. Outside at the rear of the house is a nice communal patio with the option of an open hearth.
When do you wish to stay at Annapart Bed & Breakfast and more Stieltjeskanaal?
Nieuw Amsterdam and the beautiful fortress city of Coevorden are connected by the Stieltjeskanaal canal. This long canal was dug by 300 labourers using shovels between the period of 1880 and 1884. It was meant to transport turf from the peatlands. Nowadays the canal is primarily used for recreational purposes. During the summer it is lovely to sail and canoe here, and during the winter you may even enjoy some ice-skating on natural ice. The Drenthe landscape is characterised by a diversity of wooden banks, sand paths, rivers, woods, heaths, meadows, sand drifts and boglands with water pools.
The municipality of Coevorden has nearly 160 national monuments, which are mostly typical Drenthe farms with straw roofs. You'll be sure to encounter some if you explore the area. You can go shopping in Coevorden, dine at a restaurant, or pay a visit to the interesting museum, Stedelijk Museum Drenthe's Veste. A nice trip for both young and old is the Ellen en Brammert open air museum in Schoonoord. Here, you can see the important role folktales used to play, and this is presented in a merry environment. If it's raining you can visit the Plopsa Indoor Coevorden, a fun excursion for children. Dierenpark Emmen is approximately 10 km from the hotel.
