• – It rains in through the sealing so two beds got wet during the night. The room was heated with two noisy fans. As soon as you turned them off to get some peace and quiet the temperature dropped to outdoor temperature. Boring, dry breakfast.

• + Good location. People at reception were friendly and helpful. Some female cleaners were friendly and helpful.
• – Breakfast was very poor. Some guests were making noise at 1.00 in the morning. No action were taken by hotel staff. One male cleaner in the hotel, was very rude. There was a queue to get a breakfast. Every morning he was jumping in front of everyone and forcing them to move by simply pushing them. On my comment “why don’t you get in a queue” he rudely responded and carried on taking the food. I’ve noticed he was doing it several times in the morning.

• – The price was far too high - I have just been to Paris and booked a better hotel for half the prise. The breakfast very undelesious - the coffee was undrinkable. Lausi Wifi, the shower at our room was vary bad and the cleaning could be better espesially where you enter the hotel and the area between the floors.

• + Excelente localización. Está entre el Dam y la estación central, y cruzando la calle está el barrio rojo. No hay lugar mejor. Para gente joven poco tiempo y con amigos, recomendable.
• – Tanto de la ducha como del lavabo salen 3 gotas de agua, y ninguno tiene ventanas. En general el baño es muy pobre, poco ventilado y podría estar más limpio, ya que se comparte con una planta entera del hotel. No hay ascensor y hay hasta 4 plantas.

Basic but did the job and was cheap and clean

• + Hotel has a convenient location, close to Central Station and Dam Square. It is easy to transport to airport and other Dutch cities. It also makes easy to trip city center.
• – Hotel has no elevator, not easy to carry your luggage !!! Rooms and bed is so small and not comfortable. To much noise from the street and also other guest makes hard to sleep !!!!

Its safe, clean enough, friendly and accessible 4 budget people.

• + The people were very friendly. It was somewhat clean. If I was on budget like this time, I would stay there.

Great location and staff... that's all

• + Location was near the train station and the river as well as central Amsterdam. The staff were helpful and tried to accommodate us when we asked for a room change, but the rest of the rooms were in about the same condition.
• – The room was tiny with 2 bed and a sink in the room... THAT IS ALL. This is more like a hostel than a hotel for the price of a hotel. The shower and toilet must be shared with the floor and for part of our stay the shower was not working. There are patch marks on the walls and it is VERY noisy at night. There is no elevator and the rooms have a severe lack of personal space.

• – The hotel was realy low budget accomodation! Ideal if you only want a place to crash for the night, but I think it's very expensive for a room without a window you can open for fresh air! Oh, and we had another occupant... a mouse.

• – it was dirty!! The sheets and the quilt cover were dirty! we covered the sheets with our clothes in order to be able to sleep! Ok! It is cheap, but that doesn't mean that we have to tolerate such situations..we didn't ask for luxury..just the basic things! and of course the picture of the rooms on the site have nothing to do with the real rooms!!

The hotel is in really BAD shape. Too many mice wandering around...

Great location & value for money! Go for it!

• + Saw a few negative reviews on this place so wasn't sure what to expect however I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. Our room and bathroom were very clean We stayed for 2 nights and after the 1st night our beds were changed and we were given fresh towels. Location was brilliant for seeing all parts of Amsterdam and it's only a 5 minute walk away from the station. Walking distance of Red Light District, beautiful canals and also close to the Central Station to catch a tram to anywhere else. For the price this hotel was great!
• – Damrak (the street the hotel is on) is not very pretty but we didn't have any trouble. I read that people are trying to make Damrak nicer so I wouldn't let it put you off.

Good, cheap, perfectly situated hotel

• + Righ in the middle of the Damrak, almost exactly across from the grasshopper. Free Breakfast. Decent sized rooms. We had the one balcony in the hotel above the Damrak and the view was fantastic. Good size balcony, room for more when all 5 of us were on. 2 minutes away from the Grasshopper and the begining of the Red light district. Coffeeshop and Tourist shop below the hotel. 5 minutes away from Centraal station. Can leave bags in hotel once checked out. Check out is at 11 so not too early. Friendly staff. Free internet. Beds were decent Balcony was great for when coming in at night and having a spliff before bed.
• – Steep stairs Only 1 keycard per room of 5 people. Shower was only luke warm. Could do with a revamp but the longer its kept the way it is, the better as it will be cheaper :)

Fraud

• + The cleaning and the reception girls are friendly is the only good thing i can say.
• – Where to begin? The Manofa is ugly, dirty, loud, third world kind of place. We booked a three bed clean room judging by the photos on the site, and we got a four bed room with no space, completely different from the photo. The photos on the site are simply not from Manofa. Even the taxi drivers knew the Manofa as a sleazy hotel.

• – Prix excessif par rapport à la chambre. Les lits et les locaux font très négligés. Les photos des chambres ne correspondaient pas du tout à la réalité.

There were Rats in the Room, really!

• + The location is excellent. Unfortunately most of Dam square has been taken over by new foreign owners that have little regard for cleanliness or service. It was very overpriced at 200 Euro over the Queens Day weekend but I would say it's overpriced at anything more than 25 Euro/ night. Don't believe the pictures or the renovation, this property is a dump!!
• – Well the biggest minus has to be the four legged critters visiting in the night. Go ahead and stay if you don't mind the rats....and don't ask for any accommodations on the bill. We were told (over and over) to forget it, the new owner doesn't make accommodations.

Our fist time in Amsterdam

• + The hotel was in an ideal location approx 5 mins from Central station and was just around the corner from Dam square. It had an en suite bathroom, was very clean. It was our first time in Amsterdam and we did enjoy the City we will be visiting again.
• – The wardrobe door was off and put in a corner. The room badly needed decorating. With the hotel being in a good location it was quite noisy at four in the morning.

Superb hotel for catching some zzz'z while partying in Amsterdam

A pleasant good value hotel, with good communicative friendly staff!

Pefect location but not a good hotel experience for me

• + The staff at the hotel were very helpful with train times etc. I could leave my bag there on the last day after checking out until my time to travel home which was very convenient. Breakfast served in the downstairs resturaunt was great. Very nice staff there.
• – I stayed in room 112 which is a single room and I was staying in the hotel by myself. It was not what I expected. There was a hole in the ceiling over my bed where I could see wires. There was a another hole in the ceiling towards the end of my bed which had a pipe about 15 cms in diameter. I did not know where the pipe led to but there was occassional dirt and pebbles that fell through making me feel nervous of where they were coming from. The bathroom was not comfortable place as the shower head was old and scummy and the taps also had green scum around them which made me question the the detail to hygiene in the hotel. The hotel is a noisy place, perhaps in particular my room number 112 where there was a stair case and fire door which I could hear being slammed etc throughout the night.

Cheap and good location but barebones room

• + The location is fantastic, 250-300 meters from Centraal Station on Damrak. The free breakfast (included in cost of room) is decent and saves an easy 6-8 Euros per person. The is free internet in the lobby, though you might have to wait a while for it.
• – The double room is not an ideal layout, but it isn't much of an issue. The TV only had 2 or 3 english channels, but you shouldn't be watching TV in Amsterdam. Some might not be comfortable leaving their key at the desk when leaving, but it's nothing to worry about.

• + Gute Lage nur 5 Min vom Bahnhof
• – Das Zimmer war ein karges Loch. In Amsterdam kann man für 50€ nicht mehr erwarten.

Toplocatie, vriendelijk personeel, slecht onderhouden, slecht ontbijt.

• + Het hotel heeft een zeer goede locatie op het Damrak. Het baliepersoneel stond ons netjes te woord en was vriendelijk.
• – Het hotel was in gebrekkige staat van onderhoud en er was alleen voor het oog schoongemaakt. Onder het bed was het bijvoorbeeld vies. Het personeel rookte in de lobby. Het ontbijt was van zeer slechte kwaliteit: Er was alleen oud wit brood en erg weinig beleg. Het vlees was droog of veel te vet. De koffie smaakte niet en de thee was veel te sterk.

Voor de prijs, een goed hotel, met goede service!!!

• + The hotel is very well situated, just in damrak street. Near the city center and the red light district. We pay 120 € for 3 nights with breakfast. You can smoke in your room and in the reception too because the recepcionist smokes too! lol Free internet in the reception.
• – The hotel is very old, we know that cause we only want a cheap hotel like this only to sleep, but during the night we found 4 mouses in the room looking for food. When we arrived to the hotel, the bathroom was not clean, there was pis in the w.c. The shower has not courtain and the room flooded while we take a shower. The beds were very unconfortable...

Besondere Atmosphäre

• + Das Personal ist sehr freundliche, hilfsbereit und man wird respektiert (24h Rezeption). Das Hotel besitzt eine besonders positive und gelassene Atmosphäre. Die Heizung funktioniert einwandfrei und auch an kalten Tagen ist das Zimmer behaglich warm. Die Reinigung erfolgt jeden Tag und man erhält immer ein neues Frotiertuch. Das Bett ist angenehm weich und das Badezimmer ist sehr gut. Das Hotel ist an bester Lage und die Räume aufgrund des alten (rustikalen) Baustils sehr empfehlenswert.

• – ouderwets,kamer erg klein,hotel is wel aan een opknapbeurt toe binnen,geen lift, prijs is hoog genoeg qua luxe van de kamer,maar ja hartje amsterdam,zal wel normaal zijn,voor 1 of 2 nachtjes gaat het nog wel ,zou niet een hele week op zo'n kamer kunnen zitten

Hotel met uitstekende ligging en prima prijs/kwaliteit verhouding

• + 24 uur bemande receptie, vriendelijke medewerkers, kamer en badkamer waren schoon, uitstekende ligging
• – te dunne kussen en er was er maar 1, de persoon achter de receptie zaten te roken op de werkplek en bleef tijdens het inchecken gewoon doorroken.

Voor die prijs alleen slapen en dan vlug weg!

• – Bedden erg slecht, je betaald douche en wc op kamer die er niet was! Er veel lawaai, deuren van wc tegenover kamer piepen erg en maken veel lawaai.

• + Ligging en ontbijt niet slecht
• – Betaald voor kamer met wc en douche die er niet zijn! Matrassen op bedden zeer slecht je licht op ijzeren veren, veel lawaai

Matig hotel, maar voor de prijs kun je niet veel meer verwachten.

• + Goedkoop hotel met vriendelijk personeel, heerlijk dat je overal zo dichtbij zit!
• – De veren in de matras duidelijk voelbaar, 's nachts zeer luidruchtige mensen. Ontbijt vanaf 8u.....toen mochten we naar binnen, maar niets stond klaar, ze moesten zelfs nog beginnen en zeer weinig keus!

Ein Stern Hotel - Bruchbude!

• + Das Hotel ist nur 5 Minuten vom Bahnhof entfernt.
• – Personal war nicht besoders freundlich. Fenster im Zimmer konnte man nicht öffnen! Frühstück war nur bedingt geniessbar. Dunkle Flecken an den Wänden.

Blutflecken in der Bettwäsche, Schimmel im Badezimmer!

• + ? Uns fallen leider keine ein. Dieses Hotel können wir leider niemanden weiterempfehlen!
• – Unsere Bettwäsche war schmutzig (Blutflecken!!!). Unser Zimmer hat gestunken. Die Badezimmertür war eingetreten. Der Duschvorhang war schimmelig. Einen Mindeststandart sollte auch ein 1 Sterne Hotel aufweisen!

So High in Amsterdam

• + Good Service, very good position, reception 24h a day open, cheap. Good for young people.
• – A bit dark not perfectly clean. Not good for older age. (i'm 20) not very comfortable.

Wanbeleid!

• + Wietlucht.
• – Gaten in de bedden en de muur, raam kon niet open, kapotte lamp, vieze vloer, verstopte wc, weinig ruimte, kapotte douche, veel lawaai, geen airco, strontlucht!

Je krijgt weinig voor weinig

• + Goedkoop, perfecte ligging, vriendelijke receptioniste
• – Geen comfort, toilet en douche moeten gedeeld worden. Oude, versleten, nauwelijks ingerichte, lelijke, niet fris ruikende kamer. Gehorig.

• + Ligt er centraal, dicht bij station
• – De gehele kamer, netheid van het geheel. Ontbijt was erg matig.

Slapen in een kleine kamer vol met wiet lucht.

• + De locatie was uitstekend!! Midden in het centrum. Locatie kan niet beter.
• – Kleine oude kamer. Kleine badkamer. Vieze douche waar je niet onder wil staan. Als je de raam open zet een wiet geur waar je niet meer van af komt. Bedden die kraken en waar de veren uit springen.

budget, niet voor gezinnen

• + In het centrum van Amsterdam
• – Douche was stuk, licht in de wasruimte was stuk, TV deed het niet en het personeel was niet echt behulpzaam om dit probleem op te lossen. Het ontbijt was slecht, oud brood en herhaaldelijk moeten vragen om dingen, omdat alles op was.

• + Goedkoop, maar alles er op en er aan.
• – Het raam kon niet open

Goede prijs/kwaliteit, perfecte ligging

• + 5 persoonskamer wat de kosten voor een groep drukt. Budgetkamers ook erg goedkoop, wat dit hotel perfect geschikt maakt voor een goedkope stedentrip! Locatie is naast dit ook perfect.
• – te vroeg ontbijt voor de doorgewinterde nachtbraker

Slecht waarom bestaat dit hotel nog.

• – Hotel voldoet niet meer aan de eisen van deze tijd. Zou het niemand durven adviseren om dit hotel te boeken ronduit slecht.

• + De ligging van het hotel was goed, in het centrum.
• – de kamer was oud en versleten de douche was smerig vol haren de service slecht, want de eigenaar zijn chinese verstaan je slecht.

voldoende voor weinig geld

• + Perfect voor een kort verblijf wanneer je niet te veel eisen hebt maar gewoon een lekker bed wil en een ontbijtje in de morgen.

• + De Ligging was perfect.
• – Ontbijt was erg minimaal en slecht. Kamer was schoon maar erg primitief. Te duur voor het geen wat je krijgt,

vreselijk!

• + Ligging is zeer centraal
• – Echt een backpackers hotel. Kamers vies en alles defect. Geblakerde, beschreven meubels en muren, badkamer stonk naar riool. Erg ongezellige, donkere kleine kamer. s'-nachts veel overlast van bezoekers coffeeshop beneden. Continue wiet-lucht in de kamer. Gebeten door beestjes (vlooien???) Dit hotel zou ik niet aanraden bij Nederlanders. Wij zijn na 1 nacht vertrokken, hadden voor 3 nachten geboekt. Geen geld retour gekregen. Heel slecht!

Goed genoeg

• + * ligging is super * bed was schoon * genieten van de reuring van a*dam. Kom je voor je rust kan je beter op zoek naar iets in de bossen.
• – * Manofa is meer een hostel dan een hotel. Als je je dat beseft bij het boeken, wordt je niet teleurgesteld.
