Description

At a prominent location at the 'Binnenhof', Hotel Corona offers you the pleasant environment that appeals to key members of parliament and diplomats. The stylish interior of the hotel is characterized by impressive chandeliers, high ceilings and warm shades of red in the furnishings. In the design the original 17th century style can still be recognised. Each room is equipped with a shower or bath, a minibar and a television. On top of this there is an Internet connection in the rooms and in the lobby. On ground level you can enjoy a delightful lunch or refreshing drink at Cafe-Restaurant Corona. Roomservice is available in the hotel as well. For conferences and meetings three stylish boardrooms are available and facilitate up to 100 guests. These rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art communication and conference facilities.

Hotel Corona lies directly adjacent to the 'Binnenhof', the policital nerve centre of the Netherlands. Besides being the seat of government The Hague is known as the royal city. The best known royal building is 'Paleis Noordeinde', which is located at a modest walk from the hotel. The rear side of this classical building exposes the 'Paleistuin' garden. In the proximity of the palace numerous prominent buildings emerge. For instance, there is the 'Mauritshuis', a 17th century city palace, designed in the same style as 'Paleis Noordeinde'. The 'Mauritshuis' presents beautiful works of artists such as Vermeer, under which 'Girl with a pearl earring'. Well worth a visit is the museum 'Escher in Het Paleis'. This 18th century building used to function as a royal palace of residence. Nowadays it functions as a museum where the unique works of graphical artist M.C. Escher are exhibited.

On the menu are international dishes, with the choice between a light or extensive lunch. Opening hours are between 10:00 and 19:00 h. Parties of 15 guests or more can dine at the restaurant in the evening. Early reservations need to be made in order to dine with a private party. If you like to enjoy some privacy whilst eating roomservice is available from 10:00 to 19:00 h. Anonymous Very nice hotel but "noisy" rooms
7.8
+ Service and friendly staff. Location and equipment and the bed
- The rooms are not that good issolated. You can hear the people in rooms beside yours. Bathroom, even can follow conversations almost. Very sad for such a great hotel.
Anonymous Hotel is a building site. Very noisy, no bar or restaurant.
5.4
+ Well furnished room, good central location.
- Hotel is a building site. No bar or restaurant. Impossible to sleep with workmen making considerable noise immediately outside room all night. They finished at 5am. Rooms at back of Hotel away from building works are quieter. Breakfast is ridiculously expensive at €21.

+ i will return to the hotel as it was a great location and a good price but the interiors could be redesigned, it is a good buildiong with more potential, i would suggest the interiors being improved, colour schemes, furniture. but it was a pleasant stay and nice and quiet with good service. i liked the staff.
- the rooms had no character and i was in 210 faceing no view so i would not stay on that side again. the room was basic but ok
Pauline Dawes Excellent location, great staff, in need of refurbishment
6.6
+ location, staff
- very tired peeling wallpaper! too hot no air con dinner pm service stops at 7pm!
LONDON Visitor Nice well located small hotel with friendly staff
7.8
+ good restaurant recommendations, flexible in serving breakfast (outside the buffet choice), good location, helpful with booking taxis
- limited bar and beer selections, restaurant closed for dinner during the week (understandable as it's a small hotel), but there are multiple restaurant options immediately outside the hotel

+ This hotel stands in the very centre of The Hague, across the road from the parliament buildings and caters principally for diplomats and politicians. Out of season (i.e., August) and at weekends (Friday to Sunday) it offers excellent facilities at a bargain price. This is a â˜come and stay again♠hotel.

- No bad points come to mind.

+ Hotel is fine and I can say services and comfort are also okay.
- here are thief/thives in that hotel. I have been in many hotels and was confident to left my suitcase open because I trusted the establishments, but during my stay in Corona Hotel someone stole my pair of jeans that was folded inside my suitcase. I complained but the manager was not very helpful. She said they will try to reimbursh me but after 3 months they did not do any actions in it. So for all the travellers who wanted to stay at CORONA HOTEL DEN HAAG pls be aware that there is a thief working there. And pls close/lock your suitcases before you leave.

+ Well situated , special price was good value for money .
- Water going off at 09.00 meant I couldn't have a shower , otherwise fine .
Hulson Excellent location, good service but rooms a little tired
8.6
+ Very good location.
- furnishings very tired and shabby - wallpaper coming away from wall behind the curtain. I usually take a double room in hotels - and clearly the double rooms I saw in this hotel looked better - is this the penalty for booking single rooms? I booked with my mother - 2 single rooms. I did ask about an upgrade but was told they were fully booked. The service however was very good and this was only a small let down on a weekend trip to visit family. I find this website a very good one to use and recomend it to others.
s Great location, needs renovation!
6.6
+ Location can't be better, staff are friendly and helpful enough but there is that inevitable Dutch rough edge to the service attitude. Room was a good size, bathroom was dated but clean, hot water very plentiful.
- Rooms badly in need of renovation. Linens and bedding very basic, wall paper peeling in places and ceiling looks like it's from the 70s.
Paul Needham Excellent value for the location
9.0
+ Very helpful staff
- Care re description of twin room - it may mean a double bed.

+ Location.
- Bathroom: Non-stop streaming water from the tap fittings, so old the 'chrome' was reduced to patches of white plastic. Toilet seeping at floor joint, not very pleasant. Many floor tiles cracked, and badly damaged. There were blue ink/paint stains on the bedcover. The room stank of old cigarette smoke. On arrival I had to wait 15 min whilst the receptionist dealt with 3 phone calls in the back room. The cleaning staff had to ask her to get off the phone. She was polite and pleasant, but I think they need more staff. For the same price I could easily have stayed in a much better hotel. In fact I normally do, but it was full that day.

+ The location was great and the reception staff was excellent. They were very cheerful and eager to help.
- The housekeeping needs a lot of improvements. I was in the suite but amenities were not replenished daily. Used glasses were not changed. The furniture were also old and worn out. Old and torn towels were given.

+ Good resturant with an excellent breackfast
- Vsery old building, paint in the room is very old & falling out, very dirty bathrooms and very old towls. The hotel needs complete rework to attract new customers.

+ Great location, in a lovely square, opposite the parliament buildings, a cinema, shops and resaurants. Lovely big room. Great staff very friendly and helpful
- Its a shame there are no rooms with double beds in the front of the hotel opposite the square as our room was spacious but overlooking the back of the hotel with a view of the bins

+ Clean, not noisy, good breakfast, perfect location
- extremely bad service at the counter, a very little room, only one light, and during the night there were mobile-phone sound on my tv set. I wrote an e-mail about these things to the management of the Corona Hotel and I got no reply at all.

+ I loved the location of the hotel. It is very central, and within walking distance to public transport and the main shopping area, as well as the Mauritshuis and the Binnenhof. The breakfast was a good spread as well.
- We were given one of the newer rooms at the back of the hotel, which was furnished with modern equipments, but it was facing the back alley of the hotel, and it was on the ground floor.

+ My wife and I enjoyed our stay at your hotel very much. It is a traditional hotel, maintaining traditional values such as warm, friendly, homely and perfectly located in the heart of the city. Keep up the good work and you will continue to do well.
- We have no negative comments but on a constructive note, the wallpaper in the room could do with a sprucing up. Keep the decor as traditional as possible and you will do well. Too many hotels getting too modern these days.

+ the place is old and has got some character.
- the place is old and broken down. tv in first room broken. so I changed rooms. 2/3 lamps in room broken. no airconditioning. outdated bathroom and decor. no alternative to mini-bar customer service lacking and inconsistent.

+ The hotel is very well situated, in the very center. Helpful staff.
- On the whole the hotel is a bit shabby with warn out carpets and also more than simple design of the bathroom. But everything was clean so it was not a big problem.

+ Nice room, quiet, lot's of space! The fan on the ceiling to cool us down after a hot day. Very nice and friendly staff. Good breakfast.
- The bed was a bit short (2 mtrs) for me (1.94 mtrs).

7.6
+ Friendly & efficient service. Good central location. Good sized room.
- Lack of air-conditioning not really acceptable in an hotel of this standing. Need to leave the windows open = noise of traffic, people & trams, & still too hot even when only 19° outside. Restaurant closed for refurb; not a problem as close to others but it would have been nice to have been informed.

+ Location and friendly staff!
- Too many stairs and very confusing to find your room! I got lost! Feels unsafe from a fire perspective - how do you get out in an easy way when you hardly find the room.

+ Location
- Shabby and run down and my room wasn't the cleanest. Lots of things didn't work in my room. Restaurant shut at 7pm - as I arrived to check in Receptionsit was rude and unhelpful Very noisy building works going on outside the hotel. Very expensive for what it was and not nearly as nice as the other hotels of a similar price in the area

+ Location is an absolute plus. An the hotel is clean. After a renovation and a paint job and a breakfast reorientation, it could easily be the best hotel in town.
- Furniture in room was partly damaged. Light bulb in bathroom was broken when I arrived and was still broken when I checked out. Carpets in hotel looked worn. Breakfast too for what you get. Maybe I'm spoiled by hotels in Asia with a similar star rating, but even in Central Europe one can easily find hotels that offer better quality for that price.

+ Great location to the center of The Hague, shopping and dining. Nice breakfast spread.
- From the moment we arrived to our room there was disappointment. The rooms (we asked to change rooms so we experienced two of them) were frumpy and smoke infused. Much of the staff could not give directions for walking around the hotel, as if they were just visiting as well. The hotel parking was an extreme hassle. Best used if you do not need to see your car but once a day.

+ Good value, good location.
- Breakfast starts at 07:30, too late. Restaurant closes at 19:00, too early.

7.4
+ Excellent location and price of 80 euros per day including breakfast is excellent. Breakfasts were good.
- -There is heavy construction work around the hotel until next Spring and one needs to walk through heavy mud to go in and out. -Hotel rooms and public areas are a bit worn.

Christine Jones
6.2
+ The staff are friendly and helpful.
- The only issues I have had during my stay is that there is often not enough light in the rooms. Many of the rooms do not have overhead lights and on more than one occassion the bulbs in the lamps do not work.

+ Room was large and quiet; bed was large and firm.
- No elevator from second floor to third level where our room was located

6.2
+ Good location for visit to Den Haag.
- The price paid was not competitive since I paid more for my standard room than my son paid for a superior room, booking with reception. Disappointed, having used the hotel before also booked through you. The hotel never answered my questions made when booking. The dining room closed at 1900 hrs which is far too early.
