s-avonds in de bar nog wat drinken, viel erg tegen. Na 1 drankje vond de barman het wel genoeg denken we, hij vergat ons voortdurend en zijn tenslotte maar naar onze kamer gegaan. Wij denken dat hij er niet zo'n zin meer in had! Dit was ook het enige minpuntje.

Great Value at the Sea Side

Very good receptionists, inviting lobby with attractive fireplace, large room with balcony and sea view, excellent breakfast, good location for beach and the city, because a direct tram to the city centre, to Delft even, stops right in front.

Shower room somewhat small. If the door were to open outwards, this might solve the problem. On the other hand, there was a wonderfully powerful shower and cheerfully decorated gel bottles and soap. Parking on the premises could be a touch cheaper.

The breakfast was very good. Not only the food, the drinks, the many choices, but also the service. Very friendly, generous, nice. The restaurant where breakfast is served is nice, modern and cosy at the same time. We had the room for 5 persons: large, great bathroom, very good. Distance from nice restaurants, the beach/boulevard is 5 till 15 minute walk.

Very expensive.. 144 euros we were charged for a standard room. Wanted breakfast at 8am but wasn't going to be ready until 8.30, Hotel generally needs updating. Found it very noisey during the night, people were talking in the hall way, also floors not noise insulated as it sounded like the children upstairs were going to come through the floor. Biggest thing was the ferry is only for foot passengers, it takes an hour to drive round to Middelburg.

Super uitzicht

Het uitzicht is zeldzaam mooi, recht voor je kamer komen enorme zee schepen de haven binnen en bij nacht is Vlissingen prachtig verlicht. De beden slapen heerlijk en het personeel is erg vriendelijk.

Het grootste minpunt is de prijs, wij betaalde 175 euro voor 1 nacht. De whirlpool maakt veel herrie en blaast zo hard dat je er last van krijgt, net alsof je kleine brand wondjes hebt. Wij zaten op de begane grond en hadden veel last van de mensen boven ons omdat de vloer van steen is. Ondanks de renovatie in 2008 komen de kamers toch nog ouderwets over en het hotel is veel kleiner dan je verwacht.

Great location (quiet, but near bus routes and shops), superb buffet breakfasts, nice bright, clean and comfortable rooms, and really great staff---very helpful and courteous. Thanks!

SMALL POINT: Trying to carry heavy suitcases up and down the steep staircases was a bit of a challenge (although staff did help). Could the hotel management convert the cleaning and supplies cupboard in the hallways into a small lift/service elevator? This would allow suitcases as well as fresh linens, supplies etc. to be more easily and safely transported.

Kostenloser Parkplatz(in Zandvoort nicht immer üblich!) Gutes Frühstück. Super Lage. Toller ungetrübter Ausblick auf die Nordsee, auch beim Frühstück! Sehr gepflegt und gemütlich.

Bei miesem Wetter leider nur ard und zdf, kann man auch nicht umprogrammieren. Leider in der Nebensaison ausser Frühstück kein Essen im Hotel möglich.

Hele fijne ligging van het hotel, mooie kamer. bij de receptie werd je goed ontvangen. Bediening bij ontbijt en diner: wel vriendelijk maar de kennis van sommige dingen was niet goed b.v. bij ontbijt bestel je thee en je krijgt koffie in de theepot, dat was niet alleen bij ons. Bij het diner een lekker wijntje(dachten we) maar helaas, na hééél lang zoeken, kregen we te horen, dat die wijn er niet meer was.We hadden dus allang het gerecht voor ons staan (gelukkig koud). Dit zijn dus de minpunten.

Halcyon Days at De Distel

A great location close to the sea in a convenient, friendly town, easy to find. Nice design modern yet inviting. The room style was very well done- reflecting the beauty of the coast. I had a nice balcony with a back-courtyard and neighborhood view. The staff were great; very helpful, friendly and efficient. The breakfast buffet is very good and the dinner excellent. All together Uitstekend!

I didn't really like the bed too much and there wasn't a good place to sit besides the bed. The noise between rooms was too easily heard.
