Sleeping and Eating at Toine lies in the village of Tolkamer in east Gelderland. The village is just 1 km from Lobith, the place where the Rhine streams into the Netherlands from Germany. The name Tolkamer stems from the time when skippers had to pay a toll when transporting goods from Germany into the Netherlands.
The hotel offers a perfect combination of delicious dining and comfortable sleeping in a monumental building on the banks of the river Rhine. You can enjoy a lovely view of the Rhine and the passing ships from the outdoor terrace on the quay. You can hire normal or electric bikes at reception and there is also a charge point available for electric bikes.
The trendy rooms in a boutique style each have their own charm and are fitted with all the necessary comforts. All rooms have a sitting area, a desk, flatscreen television and DVD-player and a bathroom with a bath or shower. The rooms on the first and second floor look out onto the Rhine and the little German place of Elterberg.
Food and Drinks
As you might expect when staying with a master chef, the food is excellent. A fresh breakfast daily awaits you in the restaurant. You can enjoy breakfast from Monday to Friday from 07:15 to 10:00 and on Saturday and Sunday from 08:00 to 10:00.
It is also possible to order a packed lunch.
You can dine in the trendy restaurant at Toine. The pleasant atmosphere in the modern restaurant certainly invites you to enjoy a relaxed lunch and dinner. The restaurant is open every Monday from 17:00 to 20:00, and Tuesday and Thursday through to Sunday from 18:00 to 22:00. The restaurant is closed on Wednesday.
The hotel bar has the same opening times as the restaurant.

Surroundings
A journey across the river is a popular excursion in Tolkamer, having the Rhine so nearby. The De Gelderse Poort nature area is actually part of the Netherlands as well as Germany and is a lovely area for cycling and walking. An interesting cycling route is the Via Romana, which goes from Nijmegen to Xanten, past the age old remains of Roman occupation in the Lower Rhine area. A bike trip to the villages around Tolkamer is also recommended and if you take the foot-passenger ferry at Millingen you’ll be in Germany in no time. It takes approximately 10 minutes by car to get from Sleeping + Eating at Toine to the German border and you’ll find yourself in Arnhem, Nijmegen and de Hoge Veluwe national park all within a 45 minute drive.
