Description
The hospitable character of hotel Het Rechthuis aan den Amstel has a long history with a particular historical significance. During the Dutch Golden Age, before the start of the third English war in 1672, the 'stadholder' William III wanted to clear the air between two admirals who had had a dispute. He invited both Admiral Tromp and Admiral De Ruyter to Het Rechthuis aan den Amstel, where peace was restored between the two commanders. The consequences, however, were not so rosy.
The classic, timeless interior of the hotel is especially elegant. The rooms are luxuriously decorated and come with an ensuite bathroom with a shower, toilet, hairdryer, bathrobe and slippers. Each room also features climate control and air conditioning, a minibar, tea and coffee making facilities, a television and telephone and a laptop-size safe. The upper floors can be accessed by a lift. Several rooms also offer a beautiful view.
A stunning large outdoor terrace by the water invites you to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or a wonderful glass of wine. The view is bewitching, many small and large boats pass along this waterway. Walking and cycling is lovely in this beautiful region. A boat trip across the meandering river is a definite must. Het Rechthuis aan den Amstel has a good reputation, also in the culinary field.
Food and Drinks
A delicious breakfast buffet is served each morning in the breakfast room from 07:00 to 10:00 h. The excellent hotel restaurant is open from 11:30 to 21:30 h. Whether you enjoy your lunch or dinner on the beautiful outdoor terrace or inside the attractive restaurant: it's all possible. The kitchen at Rechthuis aan den Amstel is influenced by French and Dutch cuisines. The menu also features various seasonal dishes. Eating meat with a clear conscience is also possible here: all meat comes from sustainable cattle farming. Guests with special dietary requirements can consult staff, so that this can be taken into consideration.
It's also nice know that the little guests are not forgotten. There is a special children's menu and the restaurant has games and colouring pictures to help pass the time.
