Hotel is close to motorway and very convenient to city centre, and places of interest. Also it is close to Amsterdam airport and the train station.

The only negative point is having to pay for parking the car, but we appreciate this is now a common practice for hotels all over Europe.

Pretty good with a couple of minus points

Location is superb and everything is well organised; free tea and coffee seems to be becoming popular in Europe and it's nice to see the Dutch starting to introduce it too; free internet access also good. A kettle in the room is also appreciated for those of us whose partner is addicted to tea. Thanks.

If I ask for a double room, I want a double bed - or at the very least keep some double mattresses and put them on the separate beds you've pushed together. This really is the height of crappiness as far as couples are concerned but it's unfortunately very prevalent in Europe. Sort it out and you'll be a cut above many. One further minor quibble - don't switch the coffee machine off when breakfast is on; it's not going to encourage us to pay 17 Euros for breakfast, it's just pointlessly annoying.

Not quite a four star hotel as it lacked in a few areas expected

The hotel is situated close to town and in a lovely quiet location which was good.

there was no complimentary tea or coffee facilities in the room which I would expect from a four star hotel, this I feel is extremely bad and would look to stay elsewhere due to this in the future. The Wi Fi in the room was extremely slow and did not actually ever manage to download any web pages or even e mail which I felt was bad.

We had a well appointed room with a nice bed and modern bathroom. The hotel is located a very short walk to the canals near the centre of Utrecht. Walking with luggage from the train station was easy.

No outside seating on the balcony weather was very hot and the only out door seats were in the bar area where we paid just under 13 euro for 2 large beers needless to say you could not afford to sit there for any length of time. Although we did not try the restuarent in the evening the prices seemed expensive at around 25 euro just for the main course.At the present time with the pound alsmost 1 for 1 against the euro it seemed expensive

afspraken over betalingen, steeds werden wij erop attent gemaakt dat wij moesten betalen. Als wij op de eerste avond er even op attent gemaakt werden dat men graag direct betaald moest worden had dit bij ons niet zo veel iritatie opgewekt. Wij krijgen het gevoel dat wij een stel fradeurs of iets dergelijks waren. Want steeds als wij naar het hotel terugkeerde was er wel iemand die ons erop wees dat wij nog moesten betalen. Als wij dan wilden betalen dan kon het ook wel achter een uur of zo, erg vervelend vonden wij dat. Verder was er in de suite geen enkele gelegenheid om een kop koffie of thee te maken. Een waterkoker of b.v. senseo apparaat zou wel fijn zijn.

Room design is bad. On oneof the hottest days, there is no air condition and it is not possible to open a window more than a crack. Room service was non-existant. We ordered to bottles of sparkling wine, only to be told it would take up to and hour to deliver, so we "should come and collect it ourselves"! One female member of the breakfast room staff, was rude, and started having a 'figt' with another member of staff as to where we were "allowed" to sit.

When booking in I was asked if I wanted to pay up front (which I did) I should have been asked if I wanted breakfast to be added. E 11.00 per person We talked with the manager of the rest. , but there was no reaction. .We went afterwards to MacD. for a hamburger. For our meal next day with friends we went to an other rest.

Very nice and cosy hotel - very helpfull receptionists...

We stayed 5 girls in 2 rooms 3 nights. We only had breakfast the last day because of one the girls had her birthday during our stay. We paid the bill afterwards for our stay and couldn't read the complicated invoice. When we returned to Denmark we found out we had paid for breakfast for all 3 days. Why isn't there any check up in the restaurant who has breakfast and who hasn't??? Now we have paid 155 € for nothing!

Deceiving Amersfoort Golden Tulip

Location in Amersfoort, a nice little town by its own and at a reasonable short distance from Amsterdam and other dutch interesting sites.

We've spend some pleasant time last year in Berg Hotel, same Hotel Group, same town, and thought this one would have the same standards. Unfortunately, what a difference of Staff! To begin with, we had an initial disparate room distribution; on check out, a wrong total price was computed- a 50% difference. Bad 'basic' customer service: my younger daughter forgot her cellphone transformer plugged in her room's wall socket- though she phoned the next day (from Doorwerth's Golden Tulip, btw), and repeatedly after, six days have passed and she's still waiting for an answer. Apparently, as she was told on the phone, room services were too busy to check it out...
