Beurshotel Utrecht is a small-scale yet homely hotel at the edge of Utrecht's city centre. The convenient location gives the hotel a good connection to and from the inner city by car or public tranport. The hotel is very close to the Jaarbeurs (an important congress and event hall) and the Beatrix Theater (a well-known theatre, especially for musicals). Both venues are known for their events, shows and concerts. At approximately 10 minutes from the hotel you will find the lively city centre of Utrecht, which boasts many attractions to pay a memorable visit to. A visit to the famous 'Domkerk,' a church that has the tallest church tower in the Netherlands, is simply indispensible and on the nearby 'Oudegracht' (a street on the old canal) you can visit the medieval castle Oudean. And how would you like a boat tour through the canals of Utrecht? There is, in short, no reason at all to have a dull moment during your stay in the Beurshotel Utrecht.

The rooms of the hotel have comfortable amenities. All rooms are equipped with a spacious bed, a shower, toilet, refrigerator, television, video and desk. With your laptop you can use the Internet connection in the room. The hotel also provides a laundry service and guests can enjoy a nice breakfast buffet in the morning.

In the morning guests of the Beurshotel can enjoy an extensive breakfast buffet. This breakfast buffet is included in the price of a room. For an extensive meal guests can find a good place to eat at on the Balijelaan (the street of the hotel) and the nearby Vondellaan, Croeselaan and Rijnlaan. There are many restaurants here with different kinds of cuisine. Of course the city centre of Utrecht also offers a large number of restaurants.

Surroundings

The hotel is located on the Balijelaan, a street in the 'Dichterswijk' (an area of streets named after famous poets) of Utrecht. Architecturally this is a very diverse area, where you may find many atmospheric restaurants. The hotel is less than 2 kiometres away from the Central Station and only a five-minute drive from the 'Jaarbeursplein,' a city square that features the the event hall the 'Utrechtse Jaarbeurs' and the Beatrix Theatre. The city centre of Utrecht can also be reached within ten minutes by car or public transportation. This brings you close to all the major attractions of the inner city: the famous 'Dom' church tower, the Academy Building and the many other centuries-old monuments and enclosed courtyards.

Not perfectly located, but one could see most of Utrecht without a car or public transportation.; - The bathroom in our room STANK. It had something to do with the drains not being properly vented.

Bernie Lyons Spacious Apartment Lodging at Beurshotel Utrecht: 10 September 2010; 9.0; + We stayed at the Beurshotel to be near Amsterdam. The apt. was very spacious. We had two double beds, and there was also two long couches that could have been used for sleeping as well. I highly recommend it for a group of friends, or even two small families. The young man at the front desk was very kind to move his car, so that I could park mine in front of the apt. after not finding any parking on the street. The hotel is approx. 10 minutes by car to the train station, but I also noted public buses ran by the hotel so I'm guessing they go to the train station as well. I loved having a large fan so that I could drown out the street noise, albeit it was a pretty quite apt.; - Pillows were too big (fluffy), but later we realized that their were additional pillows in the armoire. A full length mirror, with access to an electrical outlet, would be of great use since there is only the one bathroom. And the mirror above the sink was too high for one of the members of our party. Also, their were only three glasses, two of which were wine, in the kitchen. The apt. appeared to be recently remodeled and the lighting in the kitchen area was pretty poor.

JL Great staff, noisy room: 26 June 2010; 7.8; + The staff were very friendly and it was a direct 15min walk from the station on a tree-lined street. Good for a stopover in Utrecht on the way to Schiphol airport, since you can leave your luggage in the lockers at the station. The room was clean and adequate considering the price.; - Ask for a room that's not facing a main street, because the hotel is on the corner of two busy streets, and it was sometimes quite loud in my room. This probably wouldn't be noticeable in winter, but in summer the noise was there because it was necessary to keep the windows open or else the room was too stuffy. Also, the streets remained busy most of the night.

The room was stiflingly hot, so getting some decent sleep was impossible.
