+ I had quite a nice surprise when I arrived at the hotel. The location is AMAZING. The rooms are super clean and very very comfortable. I will defitinitely think about coming back to the Apollo Utrecht City Centre in the future. THANKS!! :).

+ Very well located - good and pleasant welcome at reception. Good service! I recommed this hotel strongly. Good business pack is present to have e-mail/internet access.

- Accomodation is provided without breakfast included. Breakfast can be purchased at 18 €.

+ Clean and comfortable. Three full size single bed room makes travelling with a child or small group affordable, not having to get an extra room. The blackout curtains were brilliant! Located very close to Utrecht Centraal station and venues were all within walking distance of the hotel.

- The TV volume level is pre-set so low that it is impossible to hear. The breakfast is expensive, so we skipped it.

+ Great location, come straight out of Utrecht central and you can't miss it. Good value for money if you are looking for somewhere for location and luxury, Maybe on the pricey side for backpackers on a budget. But still hostels in Utrecht are only slightly less and probably alot less comfortable. Couldn't fault the service. All in all a top experience. And everything you want is only a walk away. Highly recommend this hotel and Utrecht for a weekend away.

+ Bonjour, nous avons eu beaucoup de plaisir à faire ce séjour à Utrecht, l'hôtel était sympa et nous allons revenir si vous pouvez m'éclaircir quelques points.

- Dans la nuit de samedi à dimanche, le réceptionniste à laisser entrer quelqu'un dans notre chambre d'hôtel sans même se renseigner si cette personne était avec nous. Nous sommes arrivés et la personne dormait dans notre lit, je trouve scandaleux qu'on nous aie pas fait un rabais au niveau du paiement car je pense que ce n'est pas normal de retrouver une personne dans notre chambre, alors que nous avions laissés de l'argent dans la chambre. J'attends de vos nouvelles, meilleures salutations.

+ Central location, good for tram, busses and train station. Clean room, warm, decently decorated. Bathroom is ok. Staff very friendly. No hidden surprises in the bill.

- You have to pay for everything, wireless, BBC1 breakfast. I had a single room and bathroom is good, apart from in my room the toilet was set at a strange angle quite close to both walls, which made it dificult to get to the shower and having a dump required a bit of flexibility.

- Front rooms were match box size and very very noisy!!!!! No double glazing in a city center hotel...... Madness!!! Only breakfast served and no lunch or evening meals.

- Overpriced - the room was pokey, and €18 for the breakfast is a joke. Save your money and nip to one of the nearby cafes instead. And BBC1 a pay channel? It's free everywhere else in Holland...

+ The location is excellent. I did not have the opportunity to have any meals there so cannot comment but the rooms and beds were very comforatable.

- To enter the main reception you have to climb the steps and with the heavy luggage it is not helpful.

- Lots of noise from outside and also from other rooms. Obviously there will be more noise in a city centre hotel than one in a quiet area but the windows need to be better soundproofed. Wooden floors mean there's noise from other rooms as well.

- Some noise in the evening because it's on a main street but this wasn't much of a problem since I wear ear plugs.

- a desperately mediocre hotel with a number of irritating quirks: e.g. the 'free coffee/tea making facilities' consisted of just 1 tea bag and 1 sachet of coffee, and certain tv channels had to be paid for (BBC1 was pay-to-view even though across the Netherlands it appears in any 'basic TV package'). Small things but given its 4-star rating you just expect better.

+ Excellent service, including allowing us to check out a day early without paying for the lost night, due the volcano flight ban. Kettle now available in room, alongside the free tea, coffee etc. in the lounge. Location is just perfect, as are the rooms at the back of the hotel, with balconies overlooking the courtyard.

- A double bed is still not two singles pushed together. A bit pricey this time (average of 120 EUR per night).

+ Location is superb and everything is well organised; free tea and coffee seems to be becoming popular in Europe and it's nice to see the Dutch starting to introduce it too; free internet access also good. A kettle in the room is also appreciated for those of us whose partner is addicted to tea. Thanks.

- If I ask for a double room, I want a double bed - or at the very least keep some double mattresses and put them on the separate beds you've pushed together. This really is the height of crappiness as far as couples are concerned but it's unfortunately very prevalent in Europe. Sort it out and you'll be a cut above many. One further minor quibble - don't switch the coffee machine off when breakfast is on; it's not going to encourage us to pay 17 Euros for breakfast, it's just pointlessly annoying.

+ The staff were charming, very helpful and friendly. I had a problem with my internet connection and they were brilliant at making sure that it was sorted to my satisfaction. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this town center hotel for an easy one/two night stop.

- My room didn't have air conditioning which meant it was warm and stuffy, although they do offer fans. It's not the place for sumptious luxury and pampering break. But it's a good basic hotel.

+ Great location if you arrive in Utrecht by public transportation. 5 Minutes from bus- and trainstation, and right in the center of Utrecht. Nice, spacious rooms. Beds are of good quality.

- Noise level on the street side of the building is quite high. Only one elevator for 90 rooms on 5 floors.

- Despite request on booking for early check-in following arival from long-haul flight, could check-in only around midday. Room was not serviced after first night. Shower head did not stay in place. Free breakfasts were offered as compensation.
