The Sandton Malie Hotel is located on the stately and historic Maliestraat, in a pleasant and green area of the inner city of Utrecht. The Municipal Theatre is less than 800 metres away and the 'Domplein,' the city square that boasts the city's famous church tower, is less than one-and-a-half kilometres away. The nearby Nachtegaalstraat is one of Utrecht's most important shopping streets and in the Biltstraat you will find many bus connections to the city centre.

- The hotel is situated close to town and in a lovely quiet location which was good.
- there was no complimentary tea or coffee facilities in the room which I would expect from a four star hotel, this I feel is extremely bad and would look to stay elsewhere due to this in the future. The Wi Fi in the room was extremely slow and did not actually ever manage to download any web pages or even e mail which I felt was bad.

- Reasonably wide variety of breakfasts; very helpful and friendly staff; generally a reasonable Hotel.
- All the beds in the double rooms are two singles pushed together. We asked specifically for a double bed, and they told us it was a business hotel, so they don't have double beds. To be honest this was the only issue really, and frankly not such a problem!

- Pity we have to write minus points because every other aspect of the Malie Hotel is good.
- WE REFER TO OUR SHOWER.
There was no hand or grab rail inside the shower cubicle, absolutely nothing to hold on to and we could not even hold on to the tap because that was too hot to touch.
There was no mat on the shower tray, therefore it was dangerously slippery. We had to place a towel on to the base of the shower tray to prevent us slipping and falling. This a very bad and hazardous arrangement for ALL age-groups.
