Hotel Mitland Utrecht is a hotel with numerous facilities in a quiet park with views over water and the old fort 'de Bilt'. This hotel offers a peaceful environment at just a 10-minute drive from the city centre of Utrecht.

Hotel Mitland Utrecht is located at the outskirts of the city of Utrecht and close to one of the exits of the motorway A27, which makes the hotel very easy to reach by car. The city centre and the Jaarbeursplein (square) are only a 10-minute drive away. The hotel is located in a quiet park and offers a magnificent view of the old fort the Bilt. During your stay you can relax in quiet surroundings at just a stone's throw away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

The hotel offers its guests 135 comfortable rooms that all have a tasteful decoration. The rooms are divided into different categories such as standard and luxury rooms and singles, doubles and triples. All rooms are equipped with a bathroom with a bath and separate shower, toilet, telephone, safe and minibar. The luxury rooms are a bit more spacious than the standard rooms and have a separate seating area.

Hotel Mitland is the only hotel in Utrecht that has an indoor pool. As a guest of the hotel you can use this pool for free, as well as the sauna and Turkish steam room. Further relaxation facilities include a renovated bowling alley with 9 lanes. You can combine a friendly game of bowling with a visit to the stone-grill restaurant. Biking and hiking are also optional, as the hotel is located in a beautiful scenery. The hotel also has facilities for the business traveller, such as different meeting rooms that are all equipped with wireless Internet and an ADSL connection point.

Food and Drinks

In the hotel you can visit the restaurant, which overlooks the water and the fort 'the Bilt'. In the morning, an extensive breakfast buffet is served in this cosy restaurant. You can also enjoy a lovely lunch or a romantic à la carte dinner here. For a more basic meal you can go to the trendy Bistro. The hotel is also fitted with a hotel bar, Café Forte, where you can have a drink while enjoying the friendly atmosphere and looking out onto fort the Bilt. In the summer months, when the Dutch weather permits, you can enjoy your drink on the outside terrace.

Internet

You can use the wireless Internet in the hotel at a charge, by using one of the Hotspots. The hotel also has an Internet café.Please note:From the 20st of December to the 8th of January 2010 guests can not make use of the swimmingpool, Turkish steambath, solarium and the whirlpool.

Excellent service, excellent food.

Hotel is close to motorway and very convenient to city centre, and places of interest. Also it is close to Amsterdam airport and the train station.

The only negative point is having to pay for parking the car, but we appreciate this is now a common practice for hotels all over Europe.

Pleasant setting, yet accessible to city centre

Nice grounds and view. Swimmimg pool, sauna and steam room available for use. Fairly convenient for city centre.

Bedroom a little faded. A little expensive for the quality. Too many extras to pay: parking, city tax. Breakfast included too much packet food. No marmalade.

Great hotel with fairly quiet setting. It was a fair walk to the downtown area, but the parking was good and the breakfast was OUTSTANDING. And this coming from a high-consuming American business-man. Also a good selection of movies although they were over-priced like all hotels for in-room movies.

It was a little spendy--not budget--but probably in line with what you get. I had to pay to use the internet.

A great stay, as usual

We use this hotel since the mid-nineties and with pleasure we have noticed the improvements made to the hotel. We find that this hotel has an excellent location, being not too close to the city centre while it is just a few hundred yards from the motorway. In spring having breakfast by the pond is a must.

The towels were a bit too thin to my liking. Why did we get new towels everyday although we had indicated that we wished to reuse them?

Great hotel with beautiful surroundings

This was the nicest hotel we stayed in (compared to Kiev, Krakow, and Maastricht). The setting was beautiful, and the hotel personnel were very helpful. I appreciated the internet access. Great breakfast. Great swimming pool. And when I left my swimming goggles in the pool, they were turned in to the reception desk.

Some people may think it is inconvenient to have to walk 5 minutes to the bus stop and to take the bus to the Central Station. But we never had to wait long for a bus, and the ride to the Central Station takes only about 5 minutes.

A peaceful hotel with a beautiful surrounding. Price/quality was allright. Delicious breakfast. (I was warned that the dutch breakfast is not worth waiting for. Thanks to the nice lady, who was attending to the breakfast buffet.)

More tourist information also in english. Among touristinformation leaflets etc placed in your entrance, there was not a single one in english or any other language than dutch. The room was comfortable but with some more attention to the interior you could make a difference. (Especially we scandinavians regard the wall-to-wall-carpets as not so hygienic, difficult to clean and even causing allergy in some cases.)

Comparitively expensive, I can stay in London for less. Taxi costs are high. My appointment was the other side of the road by the Fort, there was no access from the hotel and I had to walk around 1k or pay 12 euros to get to an office about 100m from my room, suggest opening pedestrian accees.

Shower was average, business hotel so lacks a little character, 11am checkout meant the morning was rushed (but this is all being hyper-critical really).

How about a Suit mate spindrier in the changing room area? You franked a postcard to our son in Scotland for 70c (Sun, Sep 23, 10pm), and cards to family in England at 90c (Mon, Sep 24, 10am}. Last night our son had not received his Dick Bruna card but my parents had. Smoking in the foyer. Being asked for money in the underpass towards town on two occasions - is the hotel near a dosshouse?

Beautiful, restful, and accessible location, easy bike/bus ride to downtown Utrecht & Central Station. Friendly and helpful staff, service with a smile. Excellent breakfast which is included with price of room... the selection was wonderful you could have an entirely different breakfast everyday for a month if you wished. The new lobby and restaurant open and airy architecture was spectacular... the selection of art and accent items was superb!

Not many for sure- a grab bar in the shower would be nice: the closest thing to hold on to (as some of us with bad kness would) is the very hot water valve; I'm sensitive to highly scented soaps and would appreciate a less or unscented option; and let us know that there is a self-service laundry available on the website/room info brochure (as well as iron and ironing board. We had a great time and your staff all around treated us so well!

Very practical and nice location. I especially recommend the rooms with the lake view . The triple room we got was very large : we added very easily a baby bed in addition . The last but not least : we enjoyed, and kids too, the breakfasts and swimming pool.

Non smoking in the restaurant is very good.

Big minus Point for the restaurant. Has been much better in food quality and prices before. Also the possibility to order a reasonable menue of the day was much better. Now the restaurant is not clean, the food is ok, brekfast was much better before (coffee very good now), the service in the restaurant is very, very poor!!! The prices are to high for what you serve.

Buiten onze mindere ervaring in de brasserie hebben we niets dan lof over het hotel, hetgeen we reeds aan onze vrienden hebben doorgegeven. Zeer hartelijke ontvangst aan de receptie met zelfs een kopje koffie omdat we even moesten wachten. Ook de informatie (kaartje en inlichtingen) over Utrecht was zeer welkom.

's avonds zijn we gaan eten in brasserie. We hebben daar lang veel langer dan normaal, (en wij toch geduldige mensen)moeten wachten vooraleer ze de bestelling kwamen opnemen. Daarna hebben we opnieuw één van de medewerkers moeten aanspreken omdat we de indruk kregen dat de bestelling niet was doorgeven want zelf de bestelde drank liet op zich wachten.

Food was excellent. Staff service and friendliness was excellent.

The room was noisy due to the walkway just outside the room and busy traffic. It was also cold, and gave the impression that it hadn't been used for a long time. Heating wasn't very effective and decor was dated. Had requested a no smoking room, but room had been used for smoking.
