Hotel Oorsprongpark Utrecht

I recommend Oorsprongpark

• + Clean and peaceful. Good spot and a beautiful part of the city.
• – I could hear the next door (?) naighbor taking a shower and listening to radio. It wasnt too bad and the other residents were really quiet and this is the problem almost in every hotel. But for your information. It would have been nice to have fresh fruits or berries in the breakfast.
• * my tip The restaurant in the next door (Mar?) was surprisingly good.

A decent hotel for a 60 euro

• + A decent breakfast is included. We arrived about an hour before check-in and were able to go straight to the room, which was nice.
• – The rather narrow (apparently typical Dutch) stairs.

Convenient location between centre and University

• + good value for money

Excellent budget accomodation. I have stayed here many many times.

Ideal stopover if your daughter/son is at Universiteit Utrecht

• + Friendly staff. Ideal location between the city and Uithof where I had taken my daughter. Quiet and comfortable. I was surprised to get ensuite for the price. I hope to come back with my wife in October if the price is right.
• – I like a very hard bed so the very soft beds were not so good for me. I asked if I could book again in October but the prices are nearly double.
• * my tip Bring your bicycle or rent one straight away to enjoy Utrecht in full - I brought my Brompton folder. It's possible but difficult to park outside. The Westraven secure park and ride is easy to reach and only E4.65/day with tram/bus [or 20 min cycle] to the hotel.

• + coffee and tea at the lobby is good
• – the wifi in 3rd floor is bad :(

• + my main criticism is that the hotel is musty and smelly. I stayed on a warm and balmy evening and couldn't fully open the windows. The stale and unpleasant fusty smell in my room was overpowering and unpleasant.

Good service, good location

• + Excellent breakfast. Room was very light and enjoyed the free coffee during the day. Excellent bus service into the centre of Utrecht and a goods are on the street corner.
• – Narrow staircase. Very narrow mattress. When I turned over I fell out of bed and the mattress landed on top of me!
• * my tip Do not have heavy luggage which needs to be taken up the narrow staircase

Pleasant stay, basic but serves purpose.

This was a clean, comfortable room with a delicious breakfast.

• + The beds are comfortable and the room is clean. There is good water pressure and lots of hot water. The breakfast is delicious.
• – The room is very small. Internet was not reliable.
• * my tip Be aware that rooms are upstairs.

• – small rooms/beds. reception got the price wrong and asked for more money the next day.

• + next to the center of Utrecht, 10 min walk.
• – steep stairs (not suitable for elders or disabled)

Nice weekend in Utrecht

• + Very friendly employees
• – There are big investments nescessary for more comfort. And also some better cleaners.

Cramped and rather overpriced but suitable for a flying visit

• + Easy to get to University on number 11 bus. Helpful staff. Very clean. BBC1 and BBC2!!! Quite nice breakfast.
• – Small bedroom, my sink leaked. Dreadful shower!!! I actually couldn't wash properly!! Very cramped hotel outside of the bedrooms with lots of narrow staircases and no lift. Only really suitable for a brief overnight stop, nothing luxurious at all about this hotel. Overpriced at nearly 100 EUR!

A small friendly hotel suitable to city hopper

• + Good price, staff was friendly, not too busy inside, feeling like at home
• – lack tea-making facility in the roomthough free tea or coffee in the lobby

Budget + damn weird toilets

• + Quiet road.
• – What is it with these awful back-to-front toilets? Are you in the middle-ages?

Basic business trip accommodation

• + A reasonable basic accommodation for business nearby. Walking distance to some nice parks and to Utrecth city centre.
• – Not always the cleanest; the breakfst and rooms are basic - you only want so sleep here.

Great budget hotel in a good location for a weekend visit to Utrecht

Good location and service

• + Very good location, friendly staff
• – Room on the ground floor is Ok, but feels a bit like a basement room. The nice picture on the web of the terrace and garden overlooking the canal is history.......

Good for old Utrecht and central station

• + Near to all the nightlife and restaurants in Utrecht. Good bus services to Utrecht Central Station, 1 bus every 2-3 minutes. Hotel is 2 star, but the room I was in has matched some of the 3 and 4 star hotels I have stayed in when I was working in Amsterdam. Certainly good enough if you are a business traveller on a budget. Free WiFi. Old town and canals of Utrecht within walking distance.
• – As with all hotels in Utrecht, expensive. Incredibly steep stairs, not suitable for anbody with any physical impairment. Breakfast is basic ham, salami, bread eggs.
