The history of Château St. Gerlach dates back to the twelfth century. The stylish baroque gardens and a luscious rose garden are part of the estate on which Château St. Gerlach offers its hotel services since 1997. In this historic setting you can now enjoy the hotel's luxury and comfort.

On the country estate guests can use the indoor Roman pool, the sauna an the Turkish steambath free of charge. On bright days the large sliding doors are opened, to enable guests to sunbathe. In the Spa & Wellness guests can also experience the utmost enjoyment and relaxation. Here guests can undergo all kinds of body treatments. Guests can relax in the lovely lounge or on one of the terraces in the surrounding garden as well.

Surroundings

Château St. Gerlach lies in Valkenburg, on the Geul river. The lovely country estate of the hotel is situated in a beautiful nature area through which the Geul meanders its way. The landscape of the province Limburg is marked by the many hills. From the Wilhelmina tower you will have a beautiful view of this area. The ruins of the Castle Valkenburg are a famous attraction of the city.

Food and Drinks

The extensive breakfast buffet is served on weekdays from 07:00 to 10:00 h. On weekends guests can have breakfast from 08:00 to 11:30 h. The breakfast room in the pavilion looks out over the herb garden and the valley of the river Geul. The restaurant is located in various salons that all have a unique character. The walls and ceilings are graced by many paintings. The menu is inspired by the French cuisine and the exclusive wine-list will make your culinary experience complete. At Bistrot de Liège you can taste many savoury regional dishes in an informal setting. For a nice local beer you can also have a seat here. It is recommended to make a timely reservation for both lunch and dinner.
Guests may enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner on one of the various terraces on sunny days (at Bistrot de Liège).

Amazing!
  • + Picked up at train station by hotel van. Beautiful room and surroundings. Incredible value for the price. On site restaurant was good and also a few great little restaurants an easy walk away in town. Pool, gardens were luxurious. Will definitely go back again.

Very comfortable and peaceful hotel
  • + Extremely pleasant hotel with extremely pleasant and helpful staff. I also enjoyed a very good meal in the Bistrot.
  • – My only slight criticism was that my room could have had stronger lighting - perhaps controllable via a rheostat switch as I was working in the room one day and found it a little dark. The seat for the desk - I was working on my laptop PC - was a little low.

  • – De service tijdens het ontbijt was veelal gehaast en luidruchtig. De dames die verantwoordelijk waren voor het serveren van koffie/thee en het ophalen van het service waren te nadrukkelijk aanwezig. Vriendelijk maar iets te veel aanwezig.
