Hotel 't Waepen is just 50 metres away from the 'Veerse Meer' lake, which makes it an ideal base for hiking and bicycle trips. Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy themselves on the 'Veerse Meer' with water skiing and surfing. In the vicinity you can make trips to such cities as Middelburg and Flushing (Vlissingen).

In Middelburg you can overlook the city from the 'Lange Jan' tower and for an overview of the island 'Walcheren' you can visit 'Miniatuur Walcheren', a miniature theme park.
