Perfect
  • + Fantastic value for money. Perfect location in the centre of town and a stone s throw from Grenswerk. A very comfortable nights sleep, a nice hot shower and a tasty breakfast.
  • It was very noisy outside but can t be helped in the town centre. I slept through it, partner did not
  • * my tip If you are going to a concert at Grenswerk it is the perfect place to stay. There are lots of good bars open late for after concert drinks and there is probably the best record shop in The Netherlands a few doors down

  • + The hotel was good, clean friendly staff.
  • No cold water in shower bath. Hot water was boiling Couldn t have a bath or shower for this reason unless you ran a bath, allowed it to go cold overnight then top up with hot in the morning. What a hassle The sink however had no hot water only cold Clean towels are left at your door for morning but no toilet rolls We had 2 to last the 4 days And yes I did point this out to staff

  • Noisy paries in nearby bar. Music way too loud.

  • + Central location in Venlo, within easy reach of everything and a short walk from train and bus connections.
  • The building would benefit from thorough redecoration inside and a bit of creativity with it, as it lacks ambience. Room decor a little tired.
  • * my tip If staying in Venlo, check other alternatives before making a booking.

Comfortable, clean, and central providing a good buffet breakfast
  • + Towels changed every day. Shower, wc, etc in good working order. Room TV with one channel in English.
  • Very limited drawers and hanging space. No lounge. A bar/coffee shop/light meals area. Closes about 8pm. There are two excellent restaurants in Venlo, plus some others.
  • * my tip No. We wanted a hotel for Floriade. It is a few minutes walk from the station from where the shuttle bus leaves for Floriade.

  • + Very convenient to walk to train station, and bus to Floriade. Helpful staff to an American show speaks no Dutch.
  • very small room, but worth it for location.

Good price with a great breakfast included.
  • + The breakfast offered was very good. That was the first time in over 2 weeks of travelling, we were offered a hot breakfast item. The desk staff are also helpful and friendly.
  • The hotel looks like it could use some repainting in the rooms.

A centrally located hotel with a great breakfast buffet included
  • + The hotel is within 10 minutes' walk from Venlo Station so it is very convenient to visit Floriade by taking a shuttle bus from the station. It is also close to Venlo's city centre and shopping streets. The breakfast buffet is of excellent quality and guests can even fry their own eggs!
  • The mattress is a little too soft for us. I'd expect a 3-star hotel room should provide a electric water kettle for making tea & coffee but this hotel does not provide it. The mirror in the toilet is too high for us (Asians) to see ourselves!
  • * my tip No.

comfortable town-centre hotel
  • + Extremely helpful staff; well-situated in Venlo (especially when the area by the station isn't full of roadworks - as it was in May 2011); easy-going good breakfast; don't have to check out until 11am
  • I never saw the same member of staff twice; rooms slightly basic; room clean, but corridor certainly wasn't;

  • (Travelling alone)
  • + Good value; very clean, hostel-like hotel; staff was very pleasant and breakfast was quite extensive.
  • Noise! the hotel is on a city square where drunk people congregate, talking and playing loud music until 4:30 AM on the weekend. We were kept up most of the first night; the 2nd night, upon request, the manager provided us with earplugs which helped a bit. Minimal amenities, but a nice place if you are looking for a budget, simple stay.

Nice hotel but too noisey to actually sleep...
  • This hotel although OK was a big disapointment. We stayed for 4 nights, 3 nights were impossible to sleep before 4am, the staff told me they knew of the problem, a festival that leads to so much noise and problems - to have not told us this on booking is very wrong.

Nice stay overall
  • + Allowed into Hotel early which was fantastic, as we were carrying lots of hand luggage and had no where else to go. ALso the breakfast was very good
  • My room for 2 was very tiny and had no coffee or tea facilities and i didn't like the bathroom at all. I arrived on a day which had limited businessed open, so i really would have appreciated the coffee and tea facility.

Nice hotel
  • + Excellent hotel. Nice room, breakfast and receptionists, especially who could help me Feb. 9 early morning for transport to an airport. I really appriciate his help. Thank you very much. I will come back, if I need to stay at Venlo again.
  • No bath tab in my room. But it is tiny problem for me.

Nice but noisy
  • Nice hotel, but.... The walls are paper-thin and we had a noisy party of a dozen Brits boozing in the next room (yes all stuffed in one room, whih also involved moving the furniture at 3 a.m. in the morning... Furthermore a group of German drunkards where having a party in the little chruch square behind the hotel. One definitely needs a few days off after stayin at this hotel...just to catch up on your sleep...

  • Hotel doesn't have its own parking space. Difficult parking zone around the hotel, for one night it costs you extra 20 euro! Ridiculous! If you add it up to the hotel price it stops being attractive any more. For the same price you can get better quality a bit outside the city center, which next time we are going to do.

  • drunk dutch buisness men rampaging around corridors getting into peoples rooms while they slept[mine],the hotel should have got the police but did not.Reception told me a parking ticket lasts 24 hours, wrong,it expired at 6 pm i could have been clamped.very poor hotel best avoided.

  • + walking distance from Station Superb breakfast Relaxed atmosphere
  • my neighbours made noise all night keeping the TV on .....not the hotel's fault but it was a big nuisance !

  • + The room was totally clean and simple, and heating was cozy enought to wear pajama all day long. The location was pretty convinient, close to a supermarket and some take away shop to get munchies, more over, the environment is safe compared with big cities in Netherland. All in all, for the folks who want to enjoy being stoned without parties, hotel Puur would be the best choice.
  • There was no tea making facility in the room. I would like to have some hot chocolate with joints.
8.8
  • (Travelling alone)
  • + Good room size. Beds are confortable and hotel is located in a quiet pedestrian area. Great value for money.
  • Bathroom a bit crowded with the WCs almost overlapping the sink. A bit difficult to locate, due to central location / pedestrian area.

  • Because I am a Wheelchair user, I did contact your hotel and they insured me that there are only three steps, where it is more than 10 and non of your staff helped, but I had to ask for help form my family who lived in Reuver every night which wasn't pleasent. also I have been told that there are showers for our use, but unfortunatly I did could not take a shower for three days, because I couldn't access it and is not designed for people who use wheelchair. I would appreciate if you tell people next time before they make a booking or mension it on your web site, because my visit to holland was good but where I stayed was not for me and it wasn't designed for people who are disable.

  • + Stayed for 2 nights in June whilst attending the World Cup in Germany. Venlo is a lovely town and the Puur is a very clean, comtemporary hotel which is a perfect base. The Breakfast was excellent, the room comfortable & clean and the staff friendly & efficient. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay again when I eventually make it back to Venlo

  • + Nice staff, good breakfast, lolly pop on bed.
  • Room was very noisy, windows at street level were very large shop rather than domestic windows and curtains were far too thin letting in too much light. Other than that, fine.
