Surroundings

The 'Limburger' landscape around hotel Golden Tulip in Weert is characterized by charming houses, chapels, and crosses in the field. An interesting archaeological walk across the nature reserve 'De Boshoverheide' takes visitors along prehistoric sites where ancient urns lay buried. A relaxing stay in the spa in Arcen or the thermal baths of Geldrop is also highly recommended. Lovers of golf can visit the golf course 'Crossmoor', which lies just outside Weert.

Food and Drinks

The extensive breakfast buffet is served from 07:00 to 10:00 h. It consists of various kinds of hot and cold dishes. In the kitchen of restaurant 'Gril & Bar De Heeren van Horne' the staff cook with passion and care. Guests can choose from many different seasonal dishes that have been prepared in a surprising manner, whether it is classical, oriental, or Mediterranean. In the Pianobar one can order a nice drink or small plates of food. The restaurant is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Great value with great staff
  • + I thought the hotel was excellent value for money. It has a great location being 2mins from the station. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful

  • + Excellent price, excellent location. Unfortunate that a hiccough at reception and faulty bed forced me to lower my ratings.
  • – Extra bed kept collapsing every time you moved. I hope this note is forwarded to the hotel staff to double check the beds so no-one else has to suffer a sleepless night. Even though I had booked and contacted the hotel to confirm, the reception billed me the wrong price plus breakfast...surely an internet booking and price should be clearly visible on the reception computer screen!

  • – Poor hygiene. My bath was brown, the dirt was moving on enamel when touched. Receptionist was informed about it and a note was left but there were no change. Clean linen are left on the floor next to the rooms where they intend to cange it. This hotel is not worth 4-star rating.

  • – My bedroom was far too dark, not enough light. Also, internet connection is generally free these days, and a €10 euro charge is excessive.

  • – the original room had a bright red tartan theme and looked like a brothel. It was in dire need of an update/redecoration. The manager on duty kindly arranged an alternative more tastfully decorated room.
