Description
'Good things come in small packages' is a correct description of Hotel WeidemurHout Weidum. Since there are only a few rooms, relaxing here is no problem. The relaxed atmosphere, the pleasant contact with the owners, the beautiful countryside, everything contributes to to total relaxation of the guests before they come home. Moreover, there is a sauna you can make use of and a solarium as well.
The authenticity of the monumental farmhouse from 1867 is well preserved, but good effort has been put into providing the guests a comfortable stay. The rooms are modern and tastefully furnished and equipped with all comforts. Each room is spacious and has a shower, toilet and a television and hairdryer. The rooms on the ground floor have a private door that provides access to the beautiful orchard. This old orchard is a good old-fashioned place to enjoy a sunset or just the silence. In all seasons, it is a lovely place to spend some time. It also lies near Leeuwarden and the route of the 11 city skating race.
Food and Drinks
Every morning between 08:30 and 11:00 h. breakfast is served. In consultation other breaktfast times ca be arranged.
For lunch and dinner guests are at the right place in Hotel WeidumerHout. With love and attention to the products the most delicious dishes prepared. Weather permitting you should obviously take a seat on the terrace. The restaurant is open for dinner between 18:00 and 21:00 h. In the beautiful restaurant you can get acquainted with the honest kitchen, where the chefs prefer working with fresh local produce.
The hotel has a lounge with a bar that is open from 11:00 to 23:00 h. In the former stables, a beautiful Frysian beer and a good glass of wine will be surely enjoyed.

Surroundings
There are bicycles for rent at Hotel WeidumerHout Weidum you can make magnificent bicycle trips along the ancient terp villages in northwest Friesland. One leads almost to the Frisian capital Leeuwarden, where you can relax in a café or on one of the beautiful terraces by the water. A visit to the historic Fries Museum is a must. The other route goes past the waterland of Grouw and Prinsenhof, with panoramic lake views and the beautiful scenery of Friesland.
