Description
Abdij de Westerburcht is a characteristic hotel. The light enters through the stained-glass windows and on some of the walls there are unique paintings. Above your head you may notice the old support beams on the ceilings. All rooms are furnished with a bathroom with a shower and toilet, a telephone, a television, a safe, and wireless Internet. Abdij de Westerburcht is situated in Westerbork, a typical village in Drenthe. The hotel is close to the well-known former 'Kamp Westerbork'. During World War II this camp was used to deport people to the concentration camps. In 1983 it became a memorial site. In the surroundings of Westerbork you can fully relax in a natural environment. As you bike through Drenthe you will pass through woods, over heaths, and along the 'hunebedden' (dolmen).
