The landscape in the surroundings of Hotel Wieringermeer is relatively young, as the polders were only drained in 1930, thanks to the famous Zuiderzee Works. To the south of the Wieringerwerf lies Oude Niedorp, a historic place from the 13th century where you can admire an industrial and polder mill from circa 1641. A crossing to the beautiful island of Texel is easily achieved, and with the ferry from Den Helder you´ll be on the island within 35-minutes. Visit the Ecomare bird and seal sanctuary, where you can learn more about this beautiful landscape. Texel has unique flora and fauna, which is particularly interesting for birdwatchers. Close to the hotel are two nice zoos: Landgoed Hoenderdaell and the Van Blanckendaell Park in Tuitjenhorn.

Breakfast consists of fresh juice, tea and coffee, fresh rolls, sweet and savoury fillings, yoghurt and fruit. You can enjoy lunch and dinner at the à la carte restaurant, where you can relish heavenly seasonal dishes. The kitchen is open from 10:30 to 22:00 for lunch and dinner. A lunch buffet is served every friday afternoon between 12:00 and 14:00. A Sunday Brunch is served every 1st Sunday of the month.
