Description
Wittem Castle is a perfect location for a pleasant stay in beautiful surroundings. The monumental building dates from the 11th century. During the Middle Ages, Castle Wittem used to be a moated castle with seven towers. There is one tower left from this period. Both Emperor Charles V and William of Orange were guest in the castle in the 16th century.
The hotel has 10 luxurious castle rooms and 2 tower suites. All rooms have a flat screen TV and a private bathroom. On the castle’s sunny terraces you can enjoy lunch or a cup of coffee with traditional Limburg pie. The drawing rooms can accommodate meetings for 4 to 40. For parties, receptions and weddings full service can be provided on request. Also culinary dinners can be arranged, so can functions, presentations, weddings and more.
Wittem Castle is an excellent basis for exploring the beautiful countryside and visit charming places such as Maastricht, Aachen and Valkenburg. South Limburg is a true golfer's paradise. Within a radius of 25 km around Castle Whites are as many as eight golf courses, varying from 18-hole courses to a 36-hole course in the Belgian village of Henri-Chapelle.
The municipality Gulpen-Wittem lies in the valley of the Geul river. It has a nice shopping centre with heated terraces where you can enjoy a beer from the local Gulpener brewery. The Gulp river flows through the centre of the village. The village has a subtropical swimming paradise and a Climbing & Adventure Centre.
Food and Drinks
Every morning you can enjoy a delicious breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 h.
The brasserie is open daily from 10:30 to 18:00 h. During these times, the garden terraces are also open for enjoying regional Limburg dishes from the brasserie kitchen or just a cup of coffee.
The bar and lounge are open during the regular opening hours of the hotel. In the low season, the brasserie might be closed on Monday and Tuesday.

On the ground Floor you can make use of free wireless Internet. In the rooms you can also make free use of Internet via an UTP-cable.

Wittem Castle is located in the heart of the hills of Southern Limburg. It is surrounded by green fields, rolling farmland, orchards and picturesque villages and it offers many opportunities to relax. There is an extensive network of walking and cycling routes and the area is also ideal for horse riding and fishing. Alternately, you can try a trip by balloon, wine tasting or a ride on the steam train.
