Surroundings
The Inntel Hotel Amsterdam Zaandam is a great place to stay if you want to pay a cultural visit to the province of Noord-Holland. The city centre of Amsterdam, with its canals and renowned museums is easily accessible. The RAI Conference and Exhibition Centre can be reached within 25 minutes by car or by public transport. But you should also not forget to visit Volendam, the 'Zaanse Schans' and the cheese market in Alkmaar. Within walking distance you will find the local shopping centre and the 'Zaanse Dam' , where you can relax on one of the outside terraces. At the 'Zaanse Dam' there is a statue of Czar Peter the Great. In the 17th century he lived in Zaanstad for a while to learn the tricks of the trade of Dutch ship building. You can still visit the 'Czaar Peter house', where he used to live.
