Surroundings
Hotel de Uitkijk lies just outside of the village of Zeddam, which houses various monuments such as the Rosmolen (horse mill) dating from 1546. The colourful surroundings offer an array of historical sights such as Wisch Castle and Huis Bergh Castle. The latter of which is one of the oldest and prettiest castles in the Netherlands, and a guided tour is certainly worth the effort. Just across the German border are Emmerich, Bocholt, Kleed and Anholt. Emmerich has a shipping museum as well as the Rhine Museum. From the Rhine promenade you can look out onto the busy river Rhine and the large suspension bridge, where you can embark on a lovely boat trip. The Kernwasser Wunderland theme park in Kalkar lies a little south of Emmerich and guarantees a great day out for both young and old. The Land van Jan Klaassen theme park is only 2.2 km from the hotel.
