Great hotel, poor customer service.

Good standard of food (breakfast was very good), and cleanliness.

Very soft bed. Due to a booking error, on my part, (I booked for the night of the 17th and should have chosen the 18th)we were charged for a two night stay. Whilst this is business efficient, it was put across to me in a totally unconcerned manner without any referral to management. I would have liked the receptionist to have checked the vacancies for the 17th before levying this charge. I know that I was in the wrong, but a little more sympathy and treating the charge to me as a last resort, rather than the first choice would have been better recieved.

Rustig en aangenaam verblijf

Vriendelijk, aangenaam, schoon, boven verwachting rustig, de binnenstad is op loopafstand bereikbaar. Goede TV op de kamer. Goed ontbijt. Rookvrij!!

De binnentemperatuur bij warm weer! Het trappehuis is daar mede debet aan. Ik zou adviseren om het dubbele glas van de ramen (te beginnen in het trappehuis) aan de binnenzijde te voorzien van zonwerende folie, dat is goedkoper dan investeren in speciaal zonwerend glas. Verder een afzuigventilator op het dak boven het trappenhuis (is mede een belangrijk veiligheidsaspect bij een eventuele brand). Het was op de kamer 30 graden ondanks open gekipte ramen! Met eenvoudige ventilatie is daar echt wel wat aan te doen (het is mijn vak). Mogelijk moet ook de isolatie van het dak verbeterd worden.

Spacious bedroom and modern bathroom

Very expensive.. 144 euros we were charged for a standard room. Wanted breakfast at 8am but wasn't going to be ready until 8.30, Hotel generally needs updating. Found it very noisey during the night, people were talking in the hall way, also floors not noise insulated as it sounded like the children upstairs were going to come through the floor. Biggest thing was the ferry is only for foot passengers, it takes an hour to drive round to Middelburg.

Halcyon Days at De Distel

A great location close to the sea in a convenient, friendly town, easy to find. Nice design modern yet inviting. The room style was very well done- reflecting the beauty of the coast. I had a nice balcony with a back-courtyard and neighborhood view. The staff were great; very helpful, friendly and efficient. The breakfast buffet is very good and the dinner excellent. All together Uitstekend!

I didn't really like the bed too much and there wasn't a good place to sit besides the bed. The noise between rooms was too easily heard.

Great value for money. Large selection for breakfast. Its location allows you to get on the road quickly. Everything seems to be organized well.

It's not the small cosy hotel in the center of town so you probably will take the car if you go anywhere.

The cosy hotel Hampshire Inn - City Terneuzen is an excellent basis for exploring the southern part of the province of Zeeland. Old fortified towns, the Delta works and the city of monuments Middelburg are easily accessible from the hotel, as well as Flemish cultural cities.

Vriendelijk en hulpvaardig personeel. De ligging van het hotel zo direct aan het strand is prachtig. Goede parkeervoorzieningen. De appartementen zijn voldoende ruim en praktisch met (kleine) kinderen.

Het was steenkoud in de kamers. Het ontbreken van goede isolatie en onvoldoende capaciteit van de verwarming maakten het een minder comfortabel verblijf. Het hotel lijkt een beetje vergane glorie en de 4-sterren kwalificatie is moeilijk te plaatsen. De ligging van het hotel is mooi, maar de faciliteiten zijn zichtbaar (te) oud en behoeven modernisering en een facelift.

Very close to train station and old city centre. Breakfast is excellent. We had room 101 with lots of windows and balcony, which was pleasant but noisy at night.

Cramped room, obviously a retro fit. Plumbing poor - hot water from both cold and hot tap at times. Bathroom cramped. No bathroom ventilation except into the room.

Très très bien situé, chambre très clean -que du neuf-, bonne literie, terrasse très agréable dans "jardin de curé" (chambre Deluxe). Le village est TRES joli.

Goed ontbijt. Goede ligging.

Voor wat langer verblijf op de kamer zijn de stoeltjes niet echt confortabel genoeg. (Zéker voor mijn vrouw, die rugklachten heeft). We hebben dan ook de terrasstoelen naar binnen gehaald om op te zitten. Verder geen opmerkingen.
