Description
A lot of good things await the guests of Hotel Villa Nova Zorgvlied. The beautiful coniferous and deciduous forests in the immediate surroundings are beautiful in each season, whether you are on foot, horseback or bicycle. At the front desk many routes are available and the friendly staff will assist you gladly. Afterwards, you can relax your tired limbs by the fireplace or on one of the beautiful terraces of the hotel. The hotel has a nice private area with a large pond garden and spacious round terraces with plants and trees of an advanced age, some up to 150 years old.
The charming old building in which Hotel Villa Nova is housed, is a feast for the eye. From almost all rooms you have a nice country views. The rooms have good box-spring beds and a bathroom with shower and toilet. There is a television, clock radio, telephone and a table with one or two seats. The hotel rents bicycles as well and within 5 kilometers you'll find the wellness center Het Friese Woud.
Food and Drinks
You can have breakfast from 08:00 to 10:00 h. November through March, the breakfast is served from 08:30 to 10:00. The restaurant is open from 17:00 to 21:00 h. and the bar from 11:00 to 23:00 h. (these times may differ).
The hotel restaurant serves a three course menu every day. The menu features recognizable, Dutch dishes and you can choose from two main courses. The daily menu is served between 18.00 and 19.00 h. The restaurant is open until 21:00 h. and it's nice to enjoy your food with a nice views over the meadows.
Those wanting to have an à la carte dinner can visit the adjacent restaurant De Arkel. This restaurant is housed in an old villa, built in 1888 and still contains many old-style elements. This restaurant has a beautiful view over the leafy garden and the main street.
You can visit the bar room from 11:00 to 23:00 for a drink and a snack at the cozy bar. The table for regulars is ideal for reading a newspaper or a chat.

In the hotel guests can use wireless Internet at an additional charge.
Other information
- The hotel does not have a 24-hour reception. Guests can check-in until 20:00 h. In case you would like to check-in after 20:00h, you need to contact the reception in advance.
- There is a surcharge of 3.5% for credit card payments.
- An additional bed can be placed in the room on request for €30 a night.
- Pets are not allowed.
- Luggage can be stored at the hotel (on request).
Surroundings
Hotel Villa Nova Zorgvlied is close to Diever and Appelscha. In the triangle Zorgvlied, Diever, Appelscha lies Aekingerzand, the largest sand drifts of the Netherlands, almost completely surrounded by coniferous and deciduous forests. In 2004, this unique hilly area was elected most beautiful area of Drenthe and therefore it is most certainly recommended. In Zorgvlied there are some riding stables where horses can be hired, a unique way of transport to explore the surroundings. Those who can't ride may choose to make a covered wagon ride. Fun to do is visit the Planetron in Dwingeloo, where you can marvel at the solar system from closeby in the space theatre.
