The name of the hotel refers to the poem De Hoofdige Boer, that the poet A.C.W. Staring wrote in 1820. The poem is about a stubborn (hoofdige) farmer, that rather waded through the water than using the newly built bridge.

Medieval streets, warehouses and many renovated monuments characterize Deventer. In the centre of Zutphen you will find the Sint Walburgis church and the Berkelpoort gate, that is part of the city walls.Food and Drink
