Lloyd Hotel Amsterdam is conveniently situated: close to the centre (with direct bus and tram links), easily accessible from the ring road, and with splendid views over the waters of the eastern docks.
Lloyd Hotel Amsterdam has a rich history, dating from 1921. The building was originally designed to accommodate the 'Koninklijke Hollandse Lloyd', a company that managed the South-America line for freighting and later for passengers. During this time, the building obtained the status of hotel by accommodating passengers during the waiting time between trips. The design and construction of the hotel was a prestigious project with spiralling costs that eventually contributed to the bankruptcy of KHL. The result, however, was a beautiful construction in the architectural style of the 'Amsterdamse School', with eclectic forms and a stately appearance. The building has since been used as a prison and even as artists' studios. Nowadays, this beautiful listed building is equipped with every comfort to accommodate every kind of visit.
Over 50 designers and artists have transformed the hotel's interior into a unique collection of arts and objects. No room is alike, and each room emanates an extraordinary atmosphere; from 'fold-open bathrooms' to a bath in the middle of the room. On top of this, many rooms offer a beautiful view of the water; subtly hinting at you to visit the centre of Amsterdam. In Lloyd Hotel, a world of information may be requested at the 'Cultural Embassy', where staff are happy to provide you with directions to cultural highlights. Organising a meeting in any style - and to any extent - is easy at the Lloyd Hotel & Culturele Ambassade. With a capacity from 2 to 100 persons and a rich variety of rooms scattered throughout the premises, any type of meeting can be suitably accommodated.
