The village of Baarlo is often referred to as 'castle village' due to the presence of no less than four castles. One of these castles is Château De Raay, dating back to the 13th century. Throughout the years there have been many renovations although authentic ornaments and immemorial flagstones were preserved. In addition to the hotel, the Art Center de Raay is located on the premises, resulting in a nice blend of art and comfort. The Art Center even stretches to the hotel rooms, which include charming pieces of art.
All rooms are spacious and hava a unique atmosphere. At restaurant 'De Wintertuin' meals from the regional kitchen are served and special dinners can be arranged on request. In the vaults of the castle the wine cellar can be found, where guests can enjoy a drink in an informal, snug environment.
