The hospitable Hotel Restaurant Goerres Akkrum lies on the old river Boorne. Guests are able to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat on the beautiful waterfront terrace. The restaurant's kitchen has long been renowned in Friesland and beyond for its regional Frisian specialities. Dishes are created with passion, which you can taste, see and smell. In addition to its pretty terrace and delicious restaurant, the hotel offers bike and boat hire. The boats are suitable for a maximum of 8 persons and come with a complete sail inventory and a water map of the surroundings. A navigation license is not required.
All rooms, except the Budget Rooms, offer a view of the river Boorne. The rooms come with box-spring beds and a warm, comfortable décor. Facilities include a shower, a toilet, a flatscreen television, a telephone, and free WiFi. The hotel has a lift, which is perfect for guests travelling with lots of luggage and for guests who have difficulty walking.
The beautiful new waterfront sun lounge is a very suitable and stylish venue for either a celebratory event or a business meeting. Groups of up to 40 persons can be accommodated here, and when combined with the restaurant the total capacity increases to 120 persons.
Surroundings
Akkrum is now a lively water sports village with excellent attractions including a nice shopping centre and numerous cafés and restaurants. The wonderful historic buildings still testify to times gone by. If you rent a boat through Hotel Restaurant Goerres Akkrum, you can sail the 'Turf Route'; a lovely route that starts in Akkrum. In the neighbouring village of Nes, is a churchyard with an interesting tower, a belfry. This is a wooden tower with a simple roof under which one or more bells are hung. They're often called 'towers of the poor'. Local residents possessed money for a church or stone tower, and in this way it was possible for a bell to be tolled.

Those stepping into the cosy restaurant will immediately notice that the friendly owners are passionate about all things water sports.A tasty breakfast buffet is served from 07:00 until 10:00. It's lovely to sit and have a drink on Hotel Restaurant Goerres Akkrum's waterfront terrace, where you can admire the view and watch the boats sail by.Restaurant Goerres has served lovingly created cuisine since 1961. Gracing the menu are many original Frisian dishes and fresh seafood specialities. The restaurant's celebrated mussel dish is served in summer. In short: dining at Restaurant Goerres is a veritable culinary experience!

The Hotel was very pleasant and the staff very friendly we would certainly stay there again. The beds were very comfortable.Excellent breakfast.
the room was a little narrow and to begin with we were a little dissappointed, but everything else was very good so we ended up happy !!

Very nice location, with nice outside terrace at water front. easy access to Sneker lake (we rented a sloep and parked it outside the hotel). Great food. Very good value for money. We stayed at a pleasant family room that catered for 4. not a large room. but it fitted everybody.

Very friendly welcome, helpful staff, lovely location on the waterside. I would recommend this hotel both for value and facilities
Monday to Friday it does not open until 4pm so don\'t arrive any earlier!
