Good hotel in a nice area

Late arrival wasn 39 t a problem, as the reception is open 24 7. Really kind stuff was always able to help with anything. Friendly but professional, like expected at a business.

Not the hotel to blame for, but due to the restrictions of CV, the bird park was still closed, so I can 39 t rate it.

A trip to Avifauna

Conveniently situated hotel on the outskirts of Alphen an der rijn. Hotel rooms were spacious with a good sized bathroom. Our room also had table and chairs outside. Short walk to restaurant. Food good and we had breakfast included Secure accommodation for bicycles and you could hire as well. Option to not have room made up each day in exchange for a 2.50 voucher. Free entry to Avifauna with room key for duration of stay. Hotel staff all helpful.

Proper cups mugs would have been better than paper ones. Will soon need some refurbishment to rooms.

Not good soundproof. In my case the window face to the Casino entrance and some people were speaking loudly just under the window and I feel like they speak in my room.

We appreciated the assistant which you brought us to come back from the hospital of Leiden to the hotel Avifauna on Sunday morning, February 12th.

To join the restaurant for the breakfast obliges us to get dressed especially in wintry conditions. More indications in French on the boat trips would be welcome and would allow us to participate in it more easily

Review avifauna

Room, breakfast and service was really good. Staff from the hotel gave as a ride to alphen train station for free to take there the train to Rotterdam. Also they give us really useful info about train schedules and how to reach Rotterdam.

Goed, eenvoudig hotel. Waterkoker op de kamer was wel prettig geweest.

We hadden geen tijd voor ontbijt, en bestelden een lunchpakket. Bestelden bruin brood, kregen kleffe witte bolletjes. De bananen waren keihard. Dit is echt geen tien euro waard

When we arrived in the room it was a very hot day and the first thing we noticed was that the usual air conditioner was absent. I phoned reception thinking we needed to change rooms as my wife suffers from excessive sweating at times. I was told all rooms did not have air conditioning. There was one window which could be opened but this made us concerned about insect bites because we were almost i

Great Place for a Weekend Away

Service staff was very helpful and very kind. Very reasonable price for the accommodation. Tickets to Avifauna bird park included in price, and the park is right next to hotel. Rooms and common areas are fairly clean and up-to-date. The grounds are beautiful. Location is away from busy areas. Casino was smallish but fun.

Bathroom tiles could use some bleach, there was a bit of mold starting. Hotel rooms to not have airco, which is fine, but the windows do not have screens, and many mosquitoes and flies came into the room, especially at night window screens would be a nice addition. We tried the Live Cooking buffet and were very disappointed by the small selection The cost of the buffet was too much for what they offered. Also, this was the only section of the establishment where we felt ignored by staff.

Price, quality and needs, all within 150 metres

Superb location next to the Bird Park, and right across the road from the Boat departure point. The adjacent restaurant has both excellent food and service. The Vander Valk staff at all these locations have all received excellent training, and have not just been thrown into the job.......and it shows. Rooms are excellent and to a very high standard. The adjacent Bird Park entrance is free to Hotel guests.

Only really two minus points. It is a bit of a trek from some room locations to go out of the front of the hotel and round the building to the car......that is if you park the car right in view of the room. The beds are very soft, too soft for our comfort, but the many plus points made up for this particular minus.

“My tip: Use the adjacent hotel for evening dinners ,super chef and menu at a good price. Go on the 6 euro 75 minute boat trip, well worth the price. Visit the bird park next door, it has a fantastic childrens' play area, also the main swimming bath complex is within 150 metres walking distance.”

A great stopover

A great place to stop on our cycling tour. Close enough to the centre to enjoy an evening out - spacious room, great breakfast, friendly staff.

Great hotel with bird park and playground on Rhine- offers boat tours!

Amazing upgrades to bird park, which was quite enjoyable, fun to see kids learn as well. Loved feeding the lorikeets! Also, boat ride was great (part of offerings). Breakfast self serve on terrace was lovely; also great old rivertown with amazing town center.
